Dr. Ossian is very easy to talk to and he cares about people and what they are going through. No matter what you have to say, Dr. O will always listen and not judge you for what you said. I feel comfortable with Dr. Ossian and can talk to him about anything. If you go see him I am sure it will be a positive experience.
I saw Dr Ossian for approximately 8 years. I took the drug Geodon, and I began the symptoms of tardive dyskenisia. Dr. Ossian almost NEVER makes eye contact with his patients in my experience. Thus, I now have this neurological disease that has dramatically affected my life. His ANP Carrie Standen sp? observed my symptoms in February 2012, and I had been seeing her until the fall when I had to start seeing him again. He did not even acknowledge my disease, or make any recommendations. I found a family NP who was familiar with my disease and she sent me for necessary MRI's and an EEG, and then referred me to a neurologist. I did go for a second opinion, and am being treated accordingly. It is basically for only the pain management, and some relaxation of my muscles. I am unable to hold my head up all of the way, I have a lot of trouble swallowing and choke on both liquid and food. I have gait imbalance. I had severe neck and shoulder pain for years, but physical therapy has helped...as well as with my gait. I have other side effects with facial grimacing, grinding my teeth, making some noises verbally a true side effect, jaw protrusion, grinding my teeth and am not able to sit still, and bounce my legs as if it is a nervous habit, but it is not...it is a side effect. The withdrawal of the drug was horrible and lasted nearly 8 months, as I had been on the drug for approximately 8 years. My side effects started after about 3 1/2 years, I did not say anything to dr o, because I thought this was all work and other stress related events in my life. As stated. this is a permanent result, all due to him not doing his job. When I saw his ANP Carrie nearly a year later, she could see a dramatic difference in my disease. She also noted a mistake he made regarding my blood work and prescribed a different dosage that only made my thyroid disorder worse. It has taken a year to get it regulated. All of this could have resulted in a law suit, but because I was honest with an attorney about when my symptoms began, the statute of limitations ran out, and has left me in a very bad place in life. dr o is the worst dr. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. On top of it, in working with the CEO of Sterling Area Health Center, he was not reprimanded in any way shape or form to my knowledge. He is a horrible horrible horrible useless doctor. He basically ruined my life to a certain extent. There is nothing good about that establishment. Don;t go there for your health needs. You could come out ruined for life.
