I was new to area and to the practice. I met with Dr Howard Mitz in regards to my acid reflux and trouble swallow ingredients. The office was pleasant and answered my questions. I had to schedule an appointment for an esophageal exam and have my throat stretched. It was being done in his office. When I arrived to have it done I was very nervous. His staff made feel at ease and reassured me. It made me so comfortable and I was relieved. After the procedure the staff stayed and chatted with me. Dr Mitz came in and had a nice chat with me about the procedure. I was able to have a phone call in regards to my results and Dr Mitz answered all my questions and went over everything. Thank you again Dr Mitz and staff. Kate Mora
Dr. Mitz is very professional and caring, taking the time to get things right. My mom saw multiple doctors and emergency room visits over a 3 month period, which over that priod of time sh had lost 38lbs due to losing every single meal she ate she was throwing up so frequently that she occasionally was throwing up blood and no one thought that was a problem. No one would take the time to get to the bottom of this 80 year old woman "my mom". Dr. Mitz was confident he had figured it out just by reading through all the paperwork i had accumulated over the past 3 months. He scheduled CT 3 days later, and endoscopy 4 days after initial appointment. He realized the gravity of the situation, and took control of it as my mom was starving to death. He confirmed his initial diagnosis. He is very thorough and cares. I can't thank him enough. Rick
Everyone here at Dr. Mitz’s office makes you feel comfortable and like you’re in great hands. There is always a friendly face to greet you and the staff makes you feel like family. Dr. MItz always takes his time to explain everything to you and listen to your symptoms. And Brittany and Alana are just the best, always!
He is the most condescending, arrogant doctor I've ever seen. He is rude, doesn't listen, and downright lies in his dictation. I go in because my Crohn's pain is worsening. He didn't believe me and dictated that I had no pain. Traumatizing to have a doctor completely ignore what you tell them .. as if having Crohn's disease isn't hard enough.
Went to Dr. Mitz after I was diagnosed with Crohns disease from another office in NH. This office does labs, procedures and infusions which is super handy. I find staff to be pleasant. Scheduling is easy and they are considerate in the winter if you're coming from a distance. Waiting area is clean, homey and comfortable. Wait time to get in the exam room is pretty quick. Sometimes waiting time to see the doctor is a bit long, but he always acknowledges with an apology, which makes the patient seemed valued. Doctor Mitz is nice, polite and sometimes humorous. I am happy with this office.
My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Mitz. My husband has had 2 colonoscopies with Dr. Mitz .So when I started having issues, my husband called him. Even though I wasn't a patient, they took me in with their 1st cancellation. Dr. Mitz was very attentive and took his time with the examination. He explained everything clearly and was very gentle .He also has a wonderful sense of humor that puts you right at ease .My colonoscopy was a breeze. Did not feel nervous at all. The staff is wonderful, fun and professional. We reside mostly in Florida, but when it comes to our colonoscopies, we wouldn't dream of using anyone else . Thank you to Dr. Mitz and his staff.
I was in a terrible head on car collision and sustained some internal injuries. The seat belt saved my life but broke my back and compressed my internal organs. I was having a hard time swallowing and went to see Dr Mitz. After an initial visit, Dr Mitz determined I would need to have my upper GI tract scoped. The procedure went very well, I was in and out of his personal surgical center in a very short period of time. The results were tremendous. I could swallow again with no issues and not afraid of choking at all. Had just a very little bit of soreness in swallowing that lasted less than a day. But that was understandable do to what was done. Dr Mitz and his staff were very friendly and professional. The cost of the procedure was very affordable being that it was done in his surgical center and not in a hospital. Dr Mitz is one of the best doctors, I ever gone to, best in his field. Many years of experience is shown in the results from his procedures. I would highly recommend North Country Gastroenterology to anyone seeking quality service at a fair price in a casual family type environment.
I have been a patient of Dr. Mitz for 15 years. I have had several routine and therapeutic procedures. Every visit has been very professional and informative. All questions are answered and there have been quite a few as I have a lot of concerns over my current & future healthfather had esophageal cancer Mom had colon cancer both waited too long for diagnosis & treatment neither lived local even when I think of a question and call later as I have diverticulosis, Barrets esophagus and past polyps and an adenoma and I'm only 55. North Country Gastroenterology is a very clean, friendly and comfortable facility. I have never had to wait past my scheduled appointment time. I headed back this year for my routine exam today and scheduled a routine procedure for next week with great confidence in Dr Mitz and his great team! Don't wait 'til it's too late!
The entire staff; office, medical and Dr. Mitz: are so very compassionate, professional and skilled in the procedures I had. I was well taken care of. Every step was explained, with no surprises and also a bit of humor along the way to lighten up any anxiety, also very minimal wait time. I highly recommend Dr. Mitz and his staff for anyone needing help or screening with their digestive systems.
Omg was there about a month ago and had a very similar experience. I left traumatized. He insisted on a DRE and I was hesitant but knew I needed to do w.e it took to clear up my condition. I felt uncomfortable at first based off how he spoke with me. I couldn't sit right for a week. I too tried to leave a review on other pages stating what had happened and it would not let me. I contacted a lawyer for a malpractice suit, but since everything was behind a closed door there was nothing I could do. So sorry to hear its happened to more than 1 person. I thought he was having a bad day but I guess he is just a bad person, using his medical status to feel superior to people. Please do not go to this doctor and help us get him shut down!!!
