It was pretty nice to go down to the park with my dog, however, there were a few people who had their animals not on a leash and they weren't exactly the most well-behaved of animals. I always worry that my dog will get injured by another dog. And then also to have all of the homeless people begging you for money as you're walking around or trying to bum things from you, takes away from the experience. It wasn't a terrible time. Time we did have fun, but I just wish that they would get a little bit more strict with bylaw with some people who just don't know how to bring their animals out in a respectful and Safeway for everybody
From the departure bay to downtown Nanaimo is about 30 mins walk, not bad. Along the way, you will find areas that you would rather not pass by. Nothing really attractive and exciting. Downtown Nanaimo is quite dead. A few coffee shops and some run down restaurants. Would not go back again.
I had to get away from Victoria and took a coastal road trip with my homie and we settled on nanaimo. Had so much fun . Best Western Dorchester, The Palace, The Sweet Spot, and Criss Cannabis were the highlights . Everyone I met or randomly spoke to were not just friendly, but courteous and a breath of fresh air for this spontaneous trip. Making plans to visit within the next couple weeks.
Only place I have been able to contact proper light beings while under the influence of dmt. ... that being said there isn't much to do here and the quality of genuine people has dropped significantly. Also I see so many people with zero compassion for the homeless. Shame on you snobs. Be better these are hard times. Lots of rad street art randomly around town
Not very walkable nor appealing. Took Hulla Ferry over from Downtiwn Vancouver.
