My friend and I decided to give it a try at this well known and recommended pub in Jasper during our visit and it was absolutely amazing! My first dinner was the beef steak and I just loved how perfect it was!! Loved the mushroom sauce that came with it as well! After that, we decided to head back for even better experience with the smoked duck, bison short ribs, and of course, the elk steak!! It was phenomenal!! Bonus point, Sohaib - the Manager was extremely friendly and welcoming, brought our experience to the max level!!! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back to Downstream next time we visit Jasper. Oh hey, don’t forget to try their cocktails as well
DO NOT GO HERE TO WATCH THE GAME!! There is NO SOUND on for games. I reserved specifically to watch the Oilers/Calgary battle - Game 3 in their series. I messaged and asked for a good table to watch the game and they promised a good one. Cool! Asked to come early to catch the beginning of the game time wasn't announced until after I reserved. No problem! Great! They knew I was coming for the game. So disappointing to not have sound even though we heard at least 4 other tables ask. So instead of staying for the game, we ate quick and got out of there fast. This is a tough one... Great food, great service, pretty good atmosphere, good drinks. Management not capable of turning sound on or just didn't care to. Yikes!
Popped in on the off chance while we was visiting Jasper and was not disappointed! Food was absolutely delicious, highly recommend the Halloumi and squash mixed bowl. My partner and daughter each had a burger with fries which was also 10/10 and great value for money. Our server couldn’t have been more attentive and we also received unlimited refills of water. It was lovely sitting outside lots of upbeat music playing and a great atmosphere. The only downside is wasps but can’t be helped by the restaurant and unfortunately cannot take high chairs outside so it’s abit of a worry having a toddler on the open bench. My daughter also wasn’t offered any pop, juice or milk which we apparently meant to come with her kids meal, maybe we should’ve been prompted this by the waitress as we only just read online once we got home? Other than that we loved it and would definitely come again!
Professional service and delicious food! Both patio and dine-in areas are spacious. We ordered elk sirloin, bison short ribs and muscovy duck entree. The taste was fantastic and the presentation was very pleasant to look at. What makes this restaurant stand out is the variety of Gluten Free options across the menu! Restaurants in bigger cities should really take note! Staff including servers and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful. Manager Sohaib is very charming!
Elk steak - really good cook at medium rare, would eat again Wild boar taco - good but needs more sauce Chicken wings - really good seasoning , slightly on the dry side but still good Kids grill cheese and fries - kid approved

Steak bites delicious, poutine good, elk steak wonderful. I didn't try the chicken parmesan, but it looked tasty. I wanted something a little lighter so I got a Caesar salad with the dressing on the side so that it wasn't super over dressed, and I added the smoked duck for something a little unique. Gotta be honest, it was shockingly good. That smoked duck kind of rocked and worked with the salad. Surprised me :
First time eating here, would definitely go back. Cheaper than Earls depending on what you order of course but much better. Probably the best ceasar I've ever had. The ribs and fries were very good along with the bite of chicken parmesan I had. The pretzel loaf was also cheap and amazing, tasting like a fresh soft pretzel. Super friendly and chatty staff as well. Would highly recommend.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The staff are so friendly and the food is UNBELIEVABLE. 110% recommend the elk steak & Duck wings. Such a great dining experience. We will be back
Ordered blue rare steak. Cooked to medium rare. Frozen meat. Average service. Made it clear we didn't like the steak but was dismissed. Bison Birria was basically a beef soup. Packet of bistro gravy mix. $160 dollar bill for $50 dollars worth of drinks and food.
