Miss Linda at the counter is the best, she helped me to find what I needed! Not to mention the bread is very good, soft but nice crackle of the crust, I got the banquette and whole white loaf. A banquette cost $4 and a whole load was $5, very nice to have & to eat!
We actually had a chance to try Downie’s sourdough bread when we visited London. We bought a walnut sourdough bread and tried at home and it was great. Moist and soft inside with think crispy crust. Would definitely visit the location in Stratford.
Best sourdough bread I've ever eaten! I bought black olive sourdough loaf and it tastes perfect, chewy and slightly salty from the olives. I highly recommend this bakery!!
This review is hard to make for totally selfish reasons... if they are sold out again of the sourdough bread, I am taking down this post. It's a magical incredible bakery folks, hard not to eat the whole loaf before getting it home to a stick of butter. The crust is only the start to this wonderful experience. So horrible, don't go there please ;-
This is a wonderfully cozy and delicious bakery. The bread has a perfectly crispy crust and a beautifully soft inside. I would 100% recommend if you are close by and I will most definitely be coming back to enjoy it.
Super cute, great staff and it smells amazing. We are from London, so often visit the stall they have at the Western Fair Farmer's market. We decided to take the day in Stratford and the kids demanded to go to the bakery - the chocolate chip cookies so are decadent and the brownie was a delight. Lovely experience
Stopped in here for the first time today. First...it smells amazing. Nothing beats the smell of fresh bread baking. I got a sourdough, a focaccia and a couple cream cheese brownies. Tried the focaccia when I got home... probably the best I've ever had. Little bit of a crunch on outside, inside is pillow soft. Oil and rosemary flavors were perfect. Will definitely be back!
Tried the 3 seed bread and chocolate chip cookies. Both were delicious! The bread held up really well, even after a few days. I look forward to trying other items. A great bakery!
Expensive breads. I find the artisan bread is always way over cooked which makes it very hard to cut. Maybe they should cook less for a better product
A quaint and cosy bakehouse. We tried our best to reach before closing time and were treated to a wholesome walnut sourdough loaf. Cash or e-transfers only.
