A lovely walk. Starts off open, but you soon walk within a very treed area. nSteep at times in the very beginning of you start at the east entrance. Not paved at all until you meet up with the bow river trail. Depending on which fork in the road you take, you can end up at Epworth Park or end up at the pump house. Be prepared to be directly beside the CPP rail tracks at many times on this trail and expect to wait for a train to pass by at times.nQuarry road trail starts at the same east entrance.
Best nd hidden gem in calgary what a beautiful trail it was ...took so many pictures there which comes out so beautiful....its in the edworthy park ...no tickets...rental washrooms which obvious not very clean....but we can use washroom in angels cafe there...it was great experience ....nature is awesome
This is a beautiful trail nestled inside the city connected to the Edworthy Park. The trail is generally very quiet as people mostly enjoy in the park and river front. It is a walkway through the Douglas fir trees, little hilly in nature. If you are a nature enthusiast and love the sound of birds, squirrels then this is the best way to spend 2hours. There are two entrances, one east close to Westbrook LRT station and the other north entrance through river cafe Edworthy park. There are lots of mosquitoes so be prepared with bug spray. Wear a comfortable footwear as it's on a slope and few places are muddy too. Overall an enjoyable sight if you do not have much time but want to enjoy the beauty of the hills and tall Douglas fir trees.
It's a beautiful trail in the heart of city.
I love going on the Douglas fur trail with my mom and dog.what a beautiful place to be with a bench at the top of the hill .
