We were super hungry and my hubby and I were both in the mood for Chinese food. Turned out, this was the only Chinese restaurant in town. We were surprised when we saw the place, it's not how a regular restaurant looks like. We decided to give it a try anyway, how bad the only Chinese restaurant in town could be? We should have driven away when we saw the place. Their tea pot tip was replaced with a piece of rubber tube. The food was not evenly cooked as some bits were cold, and their Szechuan style chicken was not very appetizing. We had quite a lot of food remaining but we didn't take any of it with us. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I felt quite disgusted to eat there. Luckily my stomach didn't bug me, that was my main concern. The place doesn't look that clean, and not maintained properly.
I would give them 6 if there was another star. The ginger beef is the best I've ever had. Don't sleep on the house Shanghai noodles. Springy, made in house noodles. Also don't sleep on the kung pow chicken. Full of fresh vegetables, a hum of spice, and moist and tender chicken. It doesn't get better then this. Clearwater is lucky to have you. Accessibility note, there are 12+ stairs into this restaurant
A reasonable dining experience. The dining room is uncomfortably cold and all the patrons stayed in their winter jackets. Thankfully, the food was mostly good enough to make it worth braving the cold. The prices are reasonable and they have quite a wide selection of menu items available to choose from. The service is good. I recommend getting takeout and eating somewhere warmer.
I paid $23,45 for tofu in sweet sauce with steamed rice, expecting it to be a proper meal. Tofu appeared to be warmed up and was soaking from oil. Sauce was thin and tasted unnatural. Rice was good. All together the cheapest package of noodles would have given me a better food experience and no stomach aches. I don’t want to be rude, but trust your gut feelings when standing in front of this building, or you will regret it.
We passed by this little village on the way home to Vancouver. This is the only Chinese food in town. So don't expect too much but they still tried their best and we did almost finished our food.Food: 4/5
We ordered takeout from Double Dragon last night. It was delicious with ample quantities. The special chow mein and special vege mix were really good. And there was plenty left over for today's dinner.
Good food. Good value. friendly service. It was a real treat to have Chinese food. The chow mein, fried rice and almond chicken were delicious. Generous portion. My dining partner had a delicious hot pot filled with fresh vegetables.
We stopped here for lunch on our way back to Vancouver and I have to say, at first glance, I was very weary. Don't let the outside of this place fool you from going in. It almost fooled me, but I'm glad we decided to give it a shot. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Friday afternoon. There was only one person serving, and I think they were also the person cooking the food. The vibe was a bit odd, and the service wasn't really there, but the food was soooo good! I had the Combo B and my partner had the Combo A. The sweet and sour pork was crispy under the sauce, and the sauce was delicious. The almond chicken was also delicious - crispy, not too greasy, and good flavour. The chicken chow mien had a beautiful light sauce on it, with actual chicken and veg. The pork fried rice appeared to have frozen veg, but this didn't hinder the rice at all and it was also delicious. It was also delicious the next day as we took some home for leftovers. I was completely surprised by the food and it made up for the odd environment. This is going to be my new not so secret spot when travelling through to Alberta.
The food was amazing. Ordered dinner for three for lunch next day and dinner. Chow mein was light, flavourful! Pork fried rice was just spot on! Some of the best Chinese food I have had! Spring rolls! Scrumptious! Good work!
We ordered about 8 dishes and cost just over 110.00, so pricing was quite reasonable. The food was VERY tasty and no complaints from anyone in our group. In fact, a few said it was the best Chinese food they had eaten in a long time. Many compliments on the Hot and Sour soup and egg foo yung. If we are back in Clearwater again, we would definitely order from Double Dragon again.
