Donway Place Retirement Residence

So glad my mother is in such good hands. Wonderful staff, really caring people. Food is very good, lots of activities and services on site. So glad to have this wonderful place for my mother to live, like an all-inclusive hotel.

This place is a terrible place. It only looks good on the outside. I had an adopted grandmother and grandfather who was everything to me, my mom and my family. As he got older his biological family (nephew) put him in Revera it looked like such a nice place and at first we thought it was. As time went by we noticed our grandfather becoming more and more unhappy, he would make complaints that sometimes they did give him food at the right time say dinner at 4 and they would comes hours after. It has been witnessed so they cannot deny this. My mom would end up pushing him in the wheel chair downstairs to get food. They did the same thing with his medication. Keep in my that my grandfather was diabetic and also had Parkinson. Sometimes there were cases where his blood was low and they would still be giving him insulin. They even gave him someone elses medication that made him really sick. His place would be filthy my mom had to clean his bathroom, sweep and mop his floor. Regarding meds sometimes the nurses didn't show up at the right time to give it to him or even tried to get my mom to give them to him or even get my mom to bathe him or put him to bed which I don't understand because why are they getting paid to do job they are not doing? They are always talking with each other like they have nothing else to do. It was time for my grandfather to move out, he got moved to a better nursing home. Within that time my grandfather got emitted to the hospital. Once he got there family was told he had pneumonia and he wasn't going to make it. He caught pneumonia while being at revera and he passed away today in the hospital Jan 20th 2018. We should have researched even harder.. I have just found that Revera have had lawsuits because of similar situations.
