Very clean inside & out. Friends rented ice for hour game of shinny. Also like that you can be ice level colder or watch from above warmer
My only experience here was having enroled our kids in beginners skating classes. They didn't advise that we would need helmets... they were about to deny us access, but luckily they scrounged up a couple for us. Then as the kids got on the ice, they literally left my kids and others to flounder... no attention was given and they didn't show the kids how to stay up or skate. Not sure how this can even be considered a "class".
The staff @ donevan rec centre were extremely helpful & accommodating to me.Maryann & Paul went above and beyond to help me with my booking.
Quite a little recreational facility with Decent swimming pool, ice skating rink and rooms for few activities. Parking facility is good. Facilities might look little dated but busy most of the times.
Great facility with skating, hockey, swimming facilities. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Good little rec centre. The addition of the legal graffiti wall and skate park make it a great place to hang out.

The Skate Park is usually a gathering of intermediate level kids who are, for the most part, really friendly. My beginner son has rarely had a bad experience here. As for the watchful parents, they are always friendly and have good conversation.
Swimming pool is always busy during lane swim hour as they have only 3 lanes. Rinks are well maintained and big. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! If you’re thinking about taking an aquatics leadership course at the City of Oshawa I highly recommend you do not! My family member had a horrible experience while taking a recertification course here. The examiner was named Sheryl. Firstly, she was extremely unprofessional and acted inappropriate during the duration of the examine. She publicly discussed her recent divorce with other candidates which created a very uncomfortable setting. Further, her discussion of her divorce carried undertones of sexist attitudes which was further reinforced by the fact that only males failed the course. Additionally, the examiner was conversing throughout the examine with other candidates. This would undermine her legitimacy as an examiner as she was not giving full attention to the class. How can an examiner provide proper and well-thought-out feedback when she’s talking up a storm with people during their rescues? Finally, when my family member brought Sheryl’s conduct up with the individuals in charge with Aquatics programming they essentially stated that they would always side with their employees and that these claims were just claims. There is a reason why Oshawa has its reputation as Oshawa you know what I mean. Please, go to other municipalities such as Ajax or Whitby as they provide far superior services!!! It might also explain why unresponsive people haven't been pulled from their pools unlike at Oshawa pools!
