Domenica

I've had their pizza and quiche and both evoked memories of Italy and of my Italian friends' family cooking. The shop is tiny but they manage to pack in a lot of variety. Plus, I really like the ladies that work there!

I have visited Domenica twice on my travels to Knowlton. The town is such a lovely place right on the lake and this store adds to the cute and quaint feel! There are high quality cheeses and meats, coupled with homemade specials that are fresh and prepared daily with love. If that isn't enough, there is an assorted of quality oils, rice, pastas and gifts that you can browse, too! The staff are knowledgeable and are passionate about the food and products. I always love stopping in at local shops on my travels and this is one I always make a point to drop in and say hello when I am visiting.

My wife and spent over an hour at this little shop talking with the owner, a very gracious lady, and one of customer-friends. We tasted several of her homemade balsamics and swapped tales of the (then-upcoming) U.S. presidential election. It was a delight to be in their presence and be welcomed as if family. We also traded one of my home-grown garlics for one provided to the shop by a local grower. Great fun and we will return next summer as we visit Quebec for my wife's 80th birthday. Early October, 2016.
