This location is not wheel chair accessible and they make you leave your backpacks and bags in lockers by the front door. The early close time is also a detractor. *Edit* I returned today and noticed that the store is a huge mess, the inventory is just sitting unlocked in the isles and stuff looks like it was thrown every which way and no one was tidying it up. I did ask a employee where something was, and he went out of his way to show me to it when I couldn't find it. Overall the store is a mess, but the service was good.
I was carrying a backpack that is worth of 100 dollars and he insisted that I leave the bag at the door, where lots of people passing by. I am a nice girl in 30s who does not look like someone who would steal. Stupid store taking away the good location and robbed people’s freedom to buy something near their home.
Won't let you bring your backpack in if you look a certain age, but I've seen older people allowed in with bags or backpacks. Age discrimination 10/10 they have it on point. I'd be fine if they imposed the rule on everyone, and if they could guarantee the backpack left at the front won't be stolen, but the security guard said they don't guarantee that. Between possibly losing a backpack with laptop worth over $1000 inside and going in to buy a $1 pack of flashcards, I picked to just go to dollarama. The inside of the store was also very messy.
Fast line good customer service fast help lots of good things you can get g for cheap it's actually a dollar store lots of good stuff you could use for the house or whatever you need name brand cleaning supplies
Warning: Don't bring a bag if you don't want to leave it in a locker/at the counter. I wear pockets big enough to fit foldable ones / my phone. The policy is in place for a reason, so please respect the staff and don't try to make yourself an exception. moving on... Good place to try when things are out of stock at other locations. Cashier recognized that I was struggling with my bag and very politely helped me out. There's a lot of disabled people in the DTES, so I'm sure the staff get a lot of experience. Entrance is not accessible but for those who can handle stairs, there's likely to be a customer or security guard around to open the door. the door isn't that heavy, I held it for someone today
Horrible staff there.. Sometimes very rude but but I can understand that when you realize where you are D.E.S.
Bit of a rough business given neighborhood but apart from that standard for franchise.
What can I say...great knick knacks, cheap food. Just dont buy your electronics there, or phone accessories. I love dollarrama, I just edge on the side of caution when shopping there. Remember the old adage..."you get whatcha pay for." Remember that, and shop shop shop till ya drop drop drop.
I needed some glasses that were not on display but the box was in front of me, so I asked the lady if she had more, to which she answered no, I let her know that there was a box there that did not weigh more than 2 kg since they are 1oz glasses, to which she replied: I can't drink it because it's heavy, I offered to do it myself and that's when it was for a local worker. When he arrives I ask him for a package from that box and he offers to give me an exhibited one that was not the one I needed, I told him: it's different, I need it smaller and that's the only way I could get what I was looking for after a terrible service
I like it, it has the same staff from when I first moved back here in 2010 and they are friendly to me and my family. They are helpful and considerate BUT if you are rude or have a hard time listening to both sides of an argument, theft or rules regarding backpacks, they will not back down The area is the reason for it and you quite frankly have to be. I give 3 stars because it can get stupidly out of hand real quick and there are obviously kids that visit the store, mine included when these "differences" occur. Other than that, I like that there are name brand products that I would normally never buy due to price, they can have great hair clips/ties, occasional E.L.F. brushes, Polly Pockets, etc. And the candy/gum selection is pretty great.
