I want to start my review by thanking the moving crew that was sent to us Monday, June 29. Jazon, Sam and Mamou did an incredible job moving our stuff quickly and efficiently while making sure everything was protected and nothing was damaged. Moved from a third floor apartment with only stairs to a stand-alone house and the whole move took 3h45. Great company to deal with, great pricing, dedicated employees that are provided with all the equipment they need to complete the work! Thank you again!
We hired DMA to unload a container filled primarily with boxes and some furniture pieces at our newly built home. When obtaining the estimate contract was in French but over-the-phone conversations were in English, I was informed that having three men instead of two on site would cost slightly more but would save time emptying the contents, so I opted to go with this recommendation. The estimate was based on 3 hours approx. $530. I had also provided a $230 deposit. The three men doing the work were very courteous and professional; however, upon arrival, they began walking through the house and up/down the stairs with their outdoor shoes on and before having laid down any mats/carpets to protect the hardwood floors/stairs. I had to ask them if they were going to cover the areas and also had to provide them with additional mats to ensure the stairs were protected from snow, stones, etc. It took 2 hours to unload the container. When we were presented with the bill, we were charged for 4.5 hrs and had to pay another $400. So, what I thought was going to cost ~$500, end up costing us closer to $950. I contacted the company and they mentioned that because they didn’t know the contents of the container, they weren’t able to provide a more accurate quote, which I completely understand. However and unfortunately, it was not 100% clear at the onset that the initial quote $530 included travel time to and from our home. So the 3 hours we were quoted allowed for only 1 hour to unload. The other 2 hours were for travel. Perhaps it was a language barrier but at minimum, the costs were a bit misleading and, in future, be further broken down on the contract/quote so it's clearer to the customer.
We moved from Ottawa to Montreal back in October 2020, downsizing from a big house to a condo. We had a lot of stuff, it was a big move. I was impressed that nothing was damaged nor broken and everything went better than I expected. The only negative I could think of is that the blankets were a bit dirty. The boys were very friendly, efficient and fast. We were really happy!
Justin was an exceptional leader during our move. Derek even though he is new, is small but mighty. Both of them had never worked together but they figured it out very quickly and worked very well as a team. Jason only did half of our 2 part move because he was sick but he was very effective even with a cold. I would absolutely recommend these guys and this company for any of your moving needs
DMAX m'a envoyé une équipe très efficace et professionnelle : Denis & Justin. They arrived at my condo on time and they handled the furniture and fragile boxes very carefully.
