Dixie Lee family restaurant

The cashier was friendly but our order was lost or given to someone else. We had to wait over 25 minutes for the final order. The chicken burger was a pressed chicken patty not like the advert but the chicken wings were good. No compensation for losing order or long wait which they didn't even take notice of how long we were standing there. Sorry doesn't really cut it. Won't be back

Online menu said $23.70 for 10 piece economy box. I ordered delivery. When it arrived it was economy 10 piece $44.28. The Pepsi was $3.69. The delivery cab was $11.00 it came to $55, 60 with tip. Within the 10 piece were 2 wings and 2 tiny drum sticks, 3 small thighs and 3 small breast. I ate it myself. RIP OFF! Not even good food. Dixie Lee changed some recipes and is way worse than what it once was.

If KFC, St Hubert, and Popeyes had a baby it would be Dixie Lee. I was pleasantly surprised by this place - it was recommended to us by a friend. The food was cooked fast and our order was accurate. The chicken was crispy, moist and flavourful. The portions were huge. We really enjoyed our visit and we left very full with leftovers.nnSome points for improvement:n- Updating the name of this business would be prudent as Dixie has been well established as a racial term supporting the region of slavery in the southern USA.n- Updating the restaurant or embracing the old diner stylen- One high chair was available but it didn’t fit anywhere as the chairs are bolted to the floor. We had to block the entrance to the washrooms to make it work. It was also sticky from previous visitors.n- Pride in presentation was lacking - when I opened my box I thought I had only received fries and no chicken. My husband commented that he thought the same thing when he opened his box. My daughter’s nuggets were cooked on mars she couldn’t eat them for a long time because they were SO hot. They also looked strange see photos.

Famed Dixie Lee, wife insisted we try.nnChicken skin is reminiscent of how KFC used to do it, kinda crunchy chewy but with a different seasoning.nnChicken meat itself was flavourful.nnThey accidentally gave us buns instead of fries and the buns were just schlop cheap buns.nnGravy was very nice.

First visit to Dixie Lee. No desire to return. Chicken was over cooked and dry. They need competition in NB and Gaspe - maybe Popeye's or Mary Brown's?
