We are so delighted to have recently discovered/tried this restaurant. Within the past two weeks, we have already gone three times due to our family's enjoyment of it. Within Hamilton, we would argue this is one of the better traditional dim sum restaurants we have been thrilled to eat at, although we acknowledge it is still a reach to compare it to authentic dim sum restaurants out in the GTA. Their food prices are fair and we justify it based on the fact we are saving on the cost of gas to go out-of-city for the premium. Portion sizes are reasonable to the price, though there are some items that are certainly bang-for-the-buck. The congee is spectacular for Hamilton quality, we have not experienced anything like this within the city confines and we're sure to order it on every visit. As usual, downtown parking is never thrilling, but there is availability in rear lots and curbside if you're lucky, but most of it will be paid unless you are willing to do a bit of a hike or it's a weekend/holiday. The staff there are attentive and friendly. With years of exposure to the level of service at Asian restaurants/eateries, I can say their service puts a smile on my face. The atmosphere is inviting and the only area I would say is a bit lacking, would be their washrooms, they're a bit dingy and is located downstairs would be a problem for those with accessibility needs. This place accepts cash and card without a surcharge, which is nice. I did notice some promotional offers on their tables, one with a 10% discount offer and when I inquired about how to obtain it, I was not given a very clear answer and left confused. I had to do some digging on my own and my response to that would be if there are promotions available on the table, then the staff should be aware of how to explain the promotion terms/conditions.
A much needed dim sum option in Hamilton. Very clean and high quality. The high quality outweighs the variety of options. It's a pleasant surprise to see a handful of dim sum options made really well. Attentive and friendly staff. Easy huge parking lot in the rear of the building. Our food came out relatively quick for dim sum.
A nice spot for dim sum. Ambience is quite nice and clean. They have a great selection of dishes to choose from, and you order from an iPad. Dim sum dishes are generally well done. The rice and congee dishes are quite a substantial size as well. Would recommend the sticky rice.
This place is a nice option for dimsum in Hamilton. But if you're very familiar with dimsum, I would temper my expectations a bit. The steamed rice roll with shrimp ha cheung was good. Beef balls were also fine though the dipping sauce didn't taste like the usual Worcestershire sauce? They gave a very generous serving of the boiled chinese broccoli/gai lan, personally I prefer more crisp and flavourful gai lan. Egg tarts tasted good but were very small. The steamed rice roll with fried dough ja leung was oily and on the tougher side, the sesame paste that came with it was so watered down that it was pale and runny. The tripe was on the undercooked side. I may be spoiled by Markham dimsum, so I think as long as you're not expecting Markham quality dimsum, you will enjoy your meal.
This is a great new dim sum place in Hamilton. Price is comparable to most fim sum places. The selection is condensed, but most of the favourites are available. Place is very clean and has a modern aesthetic with some homage to chinese design. The Shu Mai is made in a traditional way, stuffed with ground pork, whole shrimps and topped with roe. The Sticky Rice has a good even distribution of filling and big chunks of Chinese sausage. Overall I'd definitely come back and hopefully they'll expand their menu.
Food is high quality, tastes authentic, and they don’t cheap out on the meat in their dumplings. However, it is a tad bit more pricey compared to traditional dim sum places and menu is quite limited in items. Clean and modern interior, a change from typical dim sum restaurants. You order from an iPad which shows pictures of each item!
Really solid dim sum location. Well priced and the food came very quickly. Service was very good as well. Definitely would come again. Vegetarian options: Bok Choi
Clean, modern design. The server was polite and pleasant. Only thing that lacked was the menu, as it's only a fraction of what you might find at a traditional dim sum restaurant.
I was going in with limited expectations given there are so many dim sum options in downtown Toronto and north GTA. The food was quite fresh and portion sides for some dishes were quite large. Enjoyed the congee very much as well as turnip cake and rice bowls. Hope the restaurant keeps up the good work on service and cleanliness.
Always a great experience & yummy authentic dim sum!! I grew up having dim sum almost every weekend but when we moved to Hamilton, options were very limited. I was super happy when I saw there was a second Dim Sum restaurant opening and I’m so glad I gave it a shoot! It’s become my go to whenever I’m craving! If you don’t want to leave the city, this is the place to go!
