I was so disappointed with this plate. The African grille in Atlanta would never!!! I googled okra stew and had a different expectation. The chicken was hard as a rock. The beef was ok and the small amount of “stew” was decent. The presentation sucked!!!!!! I won’t be back.
Actually waiting on my food right now with excitement, my first time visiting the store/ restaurant not currently able to sit you have to order to go yesterday. Today again I'm ordering the same Jollof Rice which is usually consist of these main ingredients: Rice, tomatoes and tomato paste, onions, cooking oil, also included either fish, lamb, goat meat, chicken, or beef. However, everyone has their own preference when cooking this dish. I really really enjoyed my food and today I returned. I must thank them for yesterday because they were closing yet still served me and the food was so good I forgot to share. Forgive me, for I did not sin lol that was mines. Anyway, I love the beef pie it was hot and delicious with what seem like a hint of cinnamon OMG DELICIOUS! Thanks for such good food. Now to those whom may be confused it is a small store and carry varies items, and the restaurant is attached so just order or call ahead because you can't eat in the restaurant although the food is so delicious you got to go home or somewhere and just eatthem. From me Kay to you, this is worth every dollar.
THE BAD REVIEWS ARE TRUE STAY AWAY I stepped foot in this establishment with hope, excitement and a happy mind. 40 dollars later I got my meal. The portion size doesn’t even matter when it comes to the disgrace against humanity that this place calls food. In fact I’m glad I got a small portion cause it took up less space in my trash can. If you have any ounce of respect for yourself go somewhere else.
listen to the reviews i’m begging you. I skipped past these and went ahead and tried the food . My boyfriend called to place an order on our way there and when he asked what meats were in the ayamesa he was hung up on . I called back still trying to place an order and this time was successful. For the price of the food you would think it would be bigger portions and prepared alot better as well . My boyfriend ordered ayamesa and 50% of it was grease and mystery meat . The meat was tough and unflavored. The jollof rice had to be prepared in the microwave because it was very hard and bland as well . Most of the “meat” were bones ! The only good thing was the egusi stew and iyan . Run from this place please ! the area isn’t even the threat to your humanity it is the food !. Overpriced & disgusting . I recommend Abundant african cuisine for better food and service
I’m sick and tired of her staff having poor customer service. I asked a simple question about a food item and this ignorant individual was breathing hard and getting an attitude due to that. Please train your staff to be patient and work better with people. I have been going here for years but I won’t be going back after this poor treatment!
I tried to patronize a black business but this place is no good. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS AND TAKE HEED! The owner has poor business practices and the staff is very short and rude over the phone. The food I was given Iv never had this issue with other Nigerian restaurants or owners. Fatima is lucky to be in business. Everyone has been short and rude and I will report her to BBB.
I ordered yam porridge and it was extremely spicy. I had to throw it out as I couldn’t eat it. It burned my thought and even tasted like raw pepper. The fried plantain also didn’t taste fresh. It tasted like it was fried the day before and put in microwave when I ordered it. Please do better.
Oooh. Nice. I got jollof rice. It had two pieces of fish and one piece of chicken. The rice was pretty good, although a but hard. I've put a picture of their menu. Great option of you're around N/W Indiana and are looking for Nigerian food. They also sell Nigerian groceries
There’s a guy there name Clinton!! I ordered Jollof and Egusi with pounded yams!! His customer service was amazing, and the food was delicious! Thanks Clinton!
If I could give zero stars I would. WORST FOOD AND EXPERIENCE EVER! EXTREMELY RUDE CASHIER/ LADY WHO TOOK MY ORDER. Food was waaaaayyyyy too spicy and the meat in every dish was EXTREMELY OVER COOKED AND OLD COULDN'T EVEN BITE INTO IT. HORRIBLE.
