I cannot express how much I appreciate Devils Bath. After a long drive upisland, it is nice to unwind before catching the ferry home. They have wonderful staff and owners. An old converted garage that reminds of the transition of old to new. This family friendly establishment in my opinion is the best craft brewery North of Victoria. In a region that is packed with amazing breweries, it is worth the trip to come and taste their creations. We are fortunate enough to have Devils' Bath on tap in Alert Bay, a 35 minute ferry ride away. Their Lager and Hazy Pale Ale are top sellers among locals, but they are constantly creating new flavours to keep you coming back for more. They are an innovative small business staffed with people that remind you why we need to support local. Locals making excellent beer for locals is a concept that truly is valued among many in the region. It is a wonderful success story. They have frequent features, delicious soups, and pizza by the slice. If you are looking for delicious food and a cold pint, definitely drop in!
The pizza & beer was great if a little pricey. It's pretty casual seat yourself, take a menu, order at the bar, collect drinks from the bar. A server did bring us our $30 pizza but we had to find plates & napkins for ourselves.
Visited the brewery at the Port McNeil harbor and was absolutely delighted with the experience. The drinks are delicious and clearly house-made, showcasing genuine craftsmanship. The food is fresh, complementing the beverages perfectly. What stood out the most, though, was the exemplary service. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!
Highly recommend stopping in here! The food, drinks, music and service were all amazing! We enjoyed it so much the first day of our visit that we came back the next day. Shelby was our server both times and she was friendly, prompt and gave some great tips for local attractions. Wish we lived closer so we could drop by more often for the pickle pizza we were skeptical but it’s SO good, beers and friendly faces!
I had cider cause it's GF and each night my wife tried a different beer. The olives were great, salmon jerky was good, the pico de Gallo was good, but the guacamole was a bit bland. Would be great if there was a GF option for dinner.
Kambucha and the beer were EXCELLENT! The atmosphere, the design, and the accents are excellent! Food needs improvement! Pizza is too thin. We ordered soup, That day, it was supposed to be bortsh, but it was nothing like bortsh, more of a minestrone. Decerts are way too sweet. The service was friendly.
Loved the vibe, food and beer!! Really good spot. We ended up eating here everyday of our 5 night stay in the area rather than cook as planned while camping because it was that delicious. Clearly struggling with some staffing issues but the staff there were incredibly friendly and seemed to really care. The order at the counter situation is less than ideal especially for second drinks but again I'm assuming that's a staff issue. I'd suggest a token system to encourage patrons to buy a token for a second drink, leave it in the empty glass and staff comes by to grab it and bring out the refill.
One of the loveliest breweries I've ever been to! A beautiful location overlooking the ocean with some amazing beers - the hazy IPA was easy to drink in the sunshine! Also the food is phenomenal, we had the tofu tacos which reminded us of being back in Mexico and a vegan pizza with the best dough - they even had vegan cheese, what a plus!
Exceptional staff who are willing to go the extra mile. Today, 09 Sep 2023 my friend each took our private aircraft and folding bikes and flew to Port McNeill for the day. We pedaled our tiny bikes the 30 minutes into town and decided to have lunch at the Devils Bath Brewing Company. We certainly made the right choice! Lunch was delicious, and staff were great. After touring Port McNeill we pedaled 30 min back to the airfield and flew over to Alert Bay. Upon landing in Alert Bay I realized that I had left my back pack with wallet and phone at the Devils Brewing Co. A quick call to the Devils Brewing Co confirmed that they had my pack and could drop it off at the Airport in Port McNeil within 15 min. I did a quick flight back to Port McNeill and I soon had my pack with phone and wallet. A huge thank you to all! Your kindness turned a great day into an Amazing day! We'll be back!
Port McNeill seriously needed a brewery and another place to eat at, so this place seems to have become the #1 hotspot pretty quickly. The kolsch was the only beer I didn't like - it had a diacetyl flavor artificial popcorn taste which is a brewing off-flavor. The others were good. The pizza was excellent. They have some staffing shortages understandable, it's a small town so outside seating was already full at half capacity but we were able to sit inside. Would be nice to return another time and sit outside since it was such a nice day.
