Found this place through social media and had to check it out. It was walk ins only. Awesome place and great drinks. On the menu next to the drink name is skulls, more skulls indicates how strong the drink is. While we were there the place reminded us of the Tacoma Cabana that closed. So we asked staff and sure enough same owner.
I had been looking forward to visiting this tiki bar for years and was pretty disappointed with my experience. The space is beautiful, the drink list is extensive, and what we ordered was well made. My disappointment began with the host who offered a table upstairs to watch the “sh!t show”, as he put it. Thanks? I also understand in COVID-times that menus and table service aren’t always guaranteed, but for a tiki bar, ordering at the bar felt so weird. Once our drinks were delivered I was surprised to see they were just liquids and crushed ice in a glass. No sprig of mint. No pineapple leaf or umbrella. Nothing. Bummer. And, not the establishments fault on my final let-down, but the table next to us kept watching videos at full volume on their phones. What the!?
This is a great place for a different atmosphere for a fun night. Out with your friends and even some family members for the vibe. I wouldn’t say first date vibes because it quite dark inside and can be a bit loud when at full capacity. Make reservations for sure. But if you want a date night with a partner and you don’t mind being in a dark environment like that then go for date night. The drinks are mostly rum specialty drinks, however they do have a small selection of other alcoholic beverages and can make something you will enjoy. Check out this place for amazing environment with a fun pirate theme vibe that’s sure to get the conversation going.
This place is amazing. The whole inside is decorated so perfectly and the pirate theme is fun and enjoyable, perfect for a rum bar. The food is great and the drinks are too, not to mention strong. The menu is laid out in a way that makes it super easy to understand however there is so many choices it’s easy to be overwhelmed. That being said the bar tenders are super helpful and will make the experience wonderful for you, walking you through any questions you have. One staff member in particular has been incredibly helpful, his name is Alec. Any time me or any friends have had trouble deciding he’s made great recommendations that have always ended up amazing. He’s witty and fun to talk to and has always made my visits memorable times! Absolutely love this place, highly recommend!
From our very first time here we were met with such hospitality - even Jason taking us upstairs and accommodating our party on a busy night. He gave us the best first experience here and even let us browse one of his personal cocktail books that we’ve since purchased and he signed it!. Since then, we’ve come back many times and each visit to Devil’s Reef has blown us away with the delicious drinks and tasty food. Jason & his crew are sure to make every visit feel special and a place you want to take everyone who comes into town! We’re sure to spend many, many more nights here.
Service: wonderful. Food: very good. Drinks: out of this world. The menu is long, almost entirely original, and all amazing. There is something for everyone. The Pile O' Bones is one of the best drinks I had had in a very long time. The other drinks I had were all excellent. Words fail me. Please come here.
This fantastically decorated bar specializes exclusively in rum cocktails that are thoughtfully and carefully crafted tiki style drinks. The owner takes the time to make syrups, bitters, tinctures, and the like, all with an eye to producing a consistent and balanced drink. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, let them guide you in your drink selection, you won’t be disappointed! The food is consistently delicious with vegetarian options. The place is often packed so be sure to come early or wait… it is worth the wait!
What an awesome bar! The decor is great as you feel like you are somewhere in the tropics. Tiki theme next level! We walked in and were told it was a 45 min wait ended up getting seated like 5 mins later. We shared a seating area with another group and they were so friendly. The staff is the best part about this place. The owner goes around to each table and makes sure your are having a good time and enjoying your drinks. Great bartenders extremely knowledgeable and skilled at their craft. The drinks will topple you if you aren’t careful. They have skulls next to each drink to indicate how strong they are. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu as we had a variety. They also have a collection of rare aged rums that you won’t find elsewhere. Definitely check this place out!
Favorite tiki bar in Washington state. ZOEY AND JASON were super helpful and amazing. Service and drinks are phenomenal. Too many drinks to pick from. One day is not enough, so we will go back tomorrow for more drinks. This is what I call a real tiki bar, they got the decor and drinks!
Good drinks and food, Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. I don't know if they take reservations, but if so? I would highly suggest making them before going. We waited about 45 minutes for a table of 4. And its a rum bar.. And that's pretty much it. No whiskey, No vodka, No tequila. But if you're ready to get your tiki on? That's the spot!
