I just had the king fish here. It was fabulous. Two big pieces of fish, veggies and sauce over rice and peas, side of cabbage. Delicious and enough for two meals at least. Plus, the service was quick and friendly.
I was first introduced to Destiny Awaits late Friday night after a concert in Hartford. A friend of mine recommend it after another place we went to had closed. I had never eaten there before and it was conveniently still open so we went. I could already tell from the smells coming through the door that the food was going to be amazing. The fact that there was a line of people even at almost 2:00 a.m. also confirmed that the food was going to be good. I ordered a large jerk chicken meal which came with rice and peas and a large jerk pork Meal with rice and peas. It was without a doubt some of the most flavorful, tender, delicious and well seasoned Jamaican food I have ever eaten. For $15 the portion size that I got was enough to make two complete separate meals out of possibly three if you're not that big of an eater. I could not have been happier with my experience. I will definitely continue to rave about it and I will be a customer for a long time to come.

The curry goat is still fire and the jerk pork n chicken I haven't had them in yrs used to come here after the club only problem i had was the pork was mad fatty n to dry on some parts and son never put veg on any of the plates we ordered ... but the meats still had that smoked flavor that I loved had to stop in and get some for nostalgia sake.
If it wasnt for the location this would be much higher ofba rating...the food tasted so fresh...and i really appreciate the grill flavor on my chicken!Food: 5/5
Excellent jerk chicken & fluffy white rice! Haven't had good Jamaican since covid started so im glad we found a good spot.

I ordered jla catering size jerk chicken for my mom's 70th birthday celebration. At the time of my order they gave me a discount to adjust to my budget and were super friendly. This jerk chicken was EVERYTHING! It was so flavorful and smoky I swear eating it im on the side of the road in Jamaica. Cudos to you all for amazing flavor when all these other restaurants flavor is so generic and water down!
The food is good. The service needs work! The host or servers are not hospitable. Maybe they are overworked! Parking: I think they lose a lot of sales due to the inconvenience of parking.
