My first note is that employees capture all the best parking spots in the parking lot. Seeing as this store shares a parking lot with several other merchants. It's kind of tacky. The store is clean and well staffed. I find their prices to be slightly elevated than other grocery stores in the area. However, I do enjoy the sales that they have on occasion. They have an in-house Ontario wine store, a Canada post office, as well as a pharmacy I would consider this a full service grocery store . They lose one star just because employees take prime parking spots before 8 AM.
Small compact independent supermarket Loblaws premium brand for smaller local market space. friendly service and they always try to hire locals which is fantastic to experience. Specials are not always in stock although they do provide rain check. Customer service is located at front entrance. Separated from other cashiers allowing making requests or purchase of lottery tickets faster.
Dessureault's Your Independent Grocer in Orleans is an excellent grocery store with a great selection of products. The store is well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The produce section is always fresh and of high quality, and the meat and seafood department is impressive. They also have a good selection of organic and gluten-free products. The prices are reasonable, and the store is clean and well-maintained. Overall, Dessureault's Your Independent Grocer is a top-notch grocery store that provides a great shopping experience.
Decently stocked store, but slow check out. There are only three self check out stations. I think there can be more. Many aisles are disorganized, which makes it difficult to search for items. Store gets crowded at times, especially the cashier lines.
The “owner” was extremely racist to my friends and I, told us we couldn’t “walk around” when we were looking for stuff to buy. Also told us we couldn’t eat the chicken in the store although many people were and we were on our way out. Told us the door was “right there if we weren’t happy”. My friends and i weren’t doing anything and on our way to the cash this is absolutely discussing in 2023
The so-called "Owner" of the store was very rude to my friends and I. He followed us around the store, claiming we couldn't "walk around" despite the fact that we were looking for the cash register to pay and leave. When we tried telling him that we were heading out politely, he told us "if you're not happy, the door is over there". So is he trying to get rid of customers?... It is not worth it, and the customer service is nothing short of horrible.
Love this Independent. Always find special deals here, things that are not in the flyers. I often find great deals here on Flash food as well. They always seem to have fresh fruits and veggies and most if not all employees at the cash speak French which i appreciate! They also have a Canada Post, Wine Rack and Smoke Shop in store.
Poor quality meat and vegetables that go bad within days. Overpriced items 2 for $5 are now 2 for $9. On one visit in the AM, deli counter person was on break, and I was told by staff and manager that I have to wait until they are back since no one is trained in the deli. Overall, the store is a huge disappointment.
This review is for the pharmacy inside the Independent! We had booked our flu shots for our family of 3 2 adults and 1 toddler and had a wonderful experience. Kia at the pharmacy really went out of his way to make our toddler feel comfortable and the process was all done very quickly! Thank you Kia!
You depend on your customers to keep the business going but you don’t actually care about them especially people of color…that’s not very independent to me. If Google didn’t require giving a minimum of one star in order to publish a review i would give you a zero.
