This place has been on my list and has come highly recommended by so many and it did not disappoint. We got a custom cake for a birthday party and it was absolutely amazing. The guests that came immediately asked for the contact, that’s when you know it’s good. Flavour was spot on and the icing was not overly sweet. Service was top notch. The communication back and forth to ensure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I HIGHLY recommend this place. You will not be disappointed
We ordered a 6" cake for the dessert table at our wedding and we are so happy we did. After chatting with Julia about what we were thinking, she created a beautiful and delicious cake. We got a piece set aside for us so that my husband and I could have it the following day. As soon as he took a bite, he turned to me and asked if we could order another one. And honestly, we probably will. Thanks again!
This Gluten free cookie is absolutely amazing!!! I can't even imagine how amazing their regular cookies are! I'm from Toronto, but this will be a must stop every Ottawa visit from now on. The staff was also so lovely!

Julia has been making some of the most beautiful and delicious cakes for my family over the years. Recently my sister-in-law was getting married and needed a wedding cake. We knew Julia would do an amazing job and she did not disappoint. It was exactly what the bride had asked for and tasted amazing. All of the guests were asking where the cake was from. She also makes a mean breakfast sandwich if cakes are not your thing.
Dessert First is an excellent boutique bakery with the most delicious cakes and breads I have encountered. The owner Julia is a very kind person who goes above and beyond to ensure her customers enjoy her treats in a way that is suitable to them. Given the difficulties of owning a business during this pandemic, I am impressed with the quality of their baked goods and service. Best boutique bakery in town!
Great, surprisingly filling breakwiches. Loved the bread. Staff was friendly and efficient. Next up, I want to check out their cakes and homemade ice creams!
I went for the very first time in the last ten minutes and ordered their bacon breakfast sandwich and had it mildly spicy with cheese, tomato, and avocado. Didn’t know a simple breakfast sandwich could taste so good! Won’t be going to TH’s anymore for breakfast; worried for my waistline since I live nearby Friendly and warm staff too. Highly recommended!
