I'm French and I had absolutely no problems with them; quite the opposite, they were very open, quick, and efficient. They even helped me out when I returned to France, and I was able to close my account remotely. For expats, I highly recommend them, especially Caroline.
They're taking triple payments, so it's emptying my account, and I've been waiting 4 days to get my money back. Thanks Desjardins, ready to do anything to give us our data, but our money...
The wait is very long at the branch; you can arrive just for a small deposit and wait for over 30 minutes while they just stand there watching you without saying a word.
One of the worst personal experiences I've ever had. The branch manager uses their personal grudges to mistreat customers. Their poor staff is truly pitiful and has to endure this situation! I left Desjardins after more than 25 years as a loyal customer because of the treatment I received from this branch during the death of a very close friend! I strongly advise against trusting this branch, despite their seemingly wonderful staff!
I've only dealt with Desjardins once in my life, and it will be the last time. I was the victim of a $500 fraud back when you deposited money at the teller using an envelope, and Desjardins made me repay the entire amount because the person who committed the theft managed to get my PIN for some unknown reason, and I was held responsible. Once the reimbursement was complete, the bank closed my account without any notice, letter, or call informing me of the procedure, even though my employment deposits and all my income tax payments were made there. Very unprofessional.
