Terrible company and they need to stop being protected by government! It took them more than 2 months to process a claim where someone hit me and $500 damage to my car Yes you read that right it took them more than 2 months to get back to me and I had to spend countless hours on phone and email! I will be going to the Ombudsman all the way to the top about this! They are killing the goose that laid the golden egg which is their customers!
They uninsured a close family member for having too many claims in the previous two years. Now this person is stuck on horrible pmts since he can only be insured subprime rates due to being uninsured. FYI, the claims made, were all due to accidents caused by others.
Write off scenario was basically taken to the cleaners. Ignorant settlement. Reps dont call back. Have to constantly challenge things by asking to pull calls.
After 4 years , I will leave this company. I want to insure 2 property that they force me to replace the policy with current policy and renew it in 3 months i ask them to give me one year insurance, and they find in this case they can not increase the price after 3 month so they increase the price I spoke with 4 different agent each of them give me different price for one property I decided to leave this company and go for intact
The inflation rate in Canada was about 2% max in last 5 years and I had a 30% increase for my car insurance during this time. There was absolutely NO valid explanation from the representative. Usually they have nothing to say but fallacy and finally become annoyed by these questions and want to refer the client to a manager who may or may not call back after couple of days with the hope that 30% of objections cool down. I was a good client, no accident during last 5 years and had no change of car or damage. They say that they increased the rates because of the demography change in my area and the quantity of ignorant clients who claimed during last year and such argumentation is absolutely a none sense. Their suggested option is to use an application that monitors the driving for 100 days/1000KMs: Beware! This solution means that they analyze and share the client's psychological information to the third party like they did with private banking and social security numbers. They have a serious management issue that is abusive and wrong. As a professional I know that it happens when savvy people are out of their jobs and bullies take the control. buckle up! The disaster is epitomized here :
This place is horrible! I called for info about my house insurance that I’ve had for many years. They asked me to confirm if my pet situation was still the same, I confirmed that we have since adopted a rescue dog that is a Pitbull/German Shepard/lab mix and they told me that they are revoking the civil responsibility clause of my policy because my dog is a menace to society!!!! And this without asking any info about my dog. FYI Desjardins and it’s company policies of discrimination are a menace to society!
Screwed me by 5142$! I had a vehicle insured with these folks, my wife totaled the vehicle and when came time to pay out the replacement value, they paid 5100$ less that the replacement value actually cost. They got a price on a vehicle that was left in the dealer inventory from the previous model year that had been sitting there of a year that was not selling because of it's colour and based their reimbursement on that. The actual vehicle we had had a replacement value 5142$ more than the vehicle proposed by the insurance company. I don't recommend Desjardins assurance generals at all!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. No response to calls and emails for months. Only call and leave voicemail. I am out a lot of money with no explanation, and I pay into these benefits!
