I love it here. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and their selection is pretty great. If you are looking for Indian food and grocery that is reasonably priced, this is the place to go. I identify visiting here during lunch, as it is very convenient for me.
The WORST experience ever! I called in at lunchtime for ordering a DF chicken noodle from their website menu for 12.99. I confirmed this is a “noodle” five times with the person who answered the phone also confirmed the price of 12.99. However, when I picked up for food, the size looks very small to me, and it didn’t look like the picture on the website menu, so before handing in the payment, I asked the cashier again if there was “noodle” in it. He said yes. Then I gave my debit card for the payment, but they charge me an extra 1 dollar because of the price change. Well, you should tell me when I read the price to you at the time I place the order. When I arrive home, I found there is no single piece of noodle at all, just curry chicken. I called back to them, and he said they were out of noodles, but they can give me rice instead if I drive back. They also refused to give me a refund because I use a debit card even though I asked to bring the food back to them. I will not go to this store again!
It's worth the trip to Desi Foods. It's smaller than other Indian stores that I used to go But I can always find all the items that I needed. Good thing is they have all the prices on their website. I can verify before going itself. No surprises.
What a treasure. Some of the produce is better than at Byerly's and I'm a fan of Byerly's. Scored some Amish chicken breasts on my last visit. Hidden in the back of the store, you'll find a huge selection of delicious takeout biryanies and curries. Check it out!
We've been customers of Desi Foods for a while. They have a wide selection of veggies, frozen goods, pantry items, grains, dry goods, and of course spices.along with Meat, Chicken now. This store used to be really small until a year or two ago, but added one next to it and now that it's a lot more clean and organized with everything! There's a really wide selection of Asian veggies as well as more commonly known stuff like okra, squash, spinach, etc. They are priced really well. We always get Tea when we go there.
My in-laws almost got hospitalized after eating from here. It was supposed to be "fresh" food. We will be reporting this business. Please be aware, and safe!
Great place! I found all the things I needed basmati rice, spices, dale, Indian tea etc.. The cashier was polite and kind!
Update 1.27.23 - stopped by today and was extremely disappointed in the service. The man working there was incredibly rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. He made us wait and was on the phone with some customers—we understand that. However, he was throwing around the produce we had bagged up and wanted to check out. He seemed like he did not want to be there. Please talk to your staff member. This is not the type of service we are used to receiving from you. We always stop by at Desi because of your service so this visit came as a shock. Updating rating from 5 to 2 stars. The staff specializes in customer service! There’s always a good selection of products. We have done prepaid store pick up orders a few times, and it has always been a good experience. We’re in and out quickly. Keep up the good work, Desi Foods. : we look forward to returning 4.23.22 - ordered food from their kitchen for the first time. Everything was flavorful. Will return.
Love to have a grocery like this so close to home. The deli is delicious and the complimentary chai is so good.
The self serve food bar area impresses me. I appreciate their selection and listing the ingredients. Very easy to find diet friendly items, especially on my vegan regiment.
