Food and service average for area, bar service deplorable in that we ordered 2 Gibsons and were each served rotten, discolored onions. The bartender's solution? Simple. Switch out the onions and reserve the liquid. Real Class. We never went back
I was in need of lodging while working at North Country Hospital. Stumbled upon this gem. Lodging was superb. Dinner was fabulous… but the breakfast was out of this world. Just what I needed to start my long day. Can’t wait to bring my husband back!Rooms: 5/5
This is a dinner review. First I have to mention that the restaurant staff were so absolutely fabulous and we did not tell them about our dinner and said all was fine and I am sorry. However, it was not fine. The mulligatawny soup was the worst I have had. It was a salty, pasty curry powdered, chicken ball mess that didn’t taste or resemble any other that’s I have ever had. We should had known better to order Indian at a German restaurant but it was recommended by the server. We had chicken and fish which were greasy, unflavoured and tasted all the same. We paid 63$ for two meals and a soup without tip. After two years of dating my boyfriend, going to restaurants throughout North America, this was the worst meal we have ever had.
Had dinner on a Wednesday night. Three of us had 3 different entrees and all were excellent. Service was also very good. Beautiful inside and out. All the places making excuses such as no help or supply chain issues these days should ask the management here in this tiny town way up on the border for some lessons on what they do differently.
We had a wonderful dinner here last week. Rob the bartender makes an amazing martini! I recommend the Oktoberfest Platter, perfect pork loin and schnitzel and complementary sides. Charcuterie plate comes with wonderful cheeses. Would love to see some more adaptations on the menu for vegetarians!
My wife and I returned to the Inn for dinner last week with our son, his girlfriend and cousin. We love this place, Paula and Fritz, and of course, the food! It is a very special place, creating an atmosphere that enhances the delicious food and company. Fritz had just added venison meatballs and pasta to the menu and I loved it. Everyone loved their food and Ashley suggested a great wine to go with it. Thanks Ashley!
Love this B&B. Wonderful owners Paula & Fritz just make you feel at home. There is nothing better than a wonderful dinner, a bottle of wine, and being able to walk upstairs to bed. Then to wake up and enjoy coffee and a perfect breakfast of hot pastries, eggs or omelette, Fritz’s sausage, and fresh fruit. Perfect, love this getaway anytime.
Amazing gem and a welcome stop for travelers crossing the US-Canadian border. Paula and Fritz are wonderful hosts who make sure their guests are well looked after. The Austrian food and drinks were fantastic. The owners were happy to let us hook up our EV to an outside 110V outlet for the night and promised level 2 EV charger would be coming soon. We're looking forward to staying again!
Very nice atmosphere, pleasant waitstaff, and great food! I have never had German food so I was unsure of what to order. The waiter took time to describe each dish to help me make a decision. The chef owner even came out to greet all of the guests!
Came to visit the Haskell Free Library and Opera House in Derby Line, VT. We were hungry so decided, on a whim, to check out the Derby Line Village Inn. The restaurant is in a restored Victorian home, that contains a bed and breakfast, restaurant and cozy bar. We were taken on a personal tour of the house, which is spectacular. After the tour, we enjoyed a few german beers and exquisite dinners, starting with the Prince Edward mussels steamed in white wine and herbs as an appetizer. This was followed by Chicken Jägerschnitzel for my daughter, Beef Stroganoff for my wife and the Land and Sea steak, shrimp and scallops for myself. Everything was excellent! Even better than our meals was our waitress. Sorry to have forgotten her name but she mention she was a teacher. The service was shockingly warm and friendly. We will definitely return!
