We showed up at 5:15 pm on a Saturday to get take out pasta but the staff told us they stopped serving pasta and are only selling leftover pizza slices. I asked why and they said they are trying to close early. That seemed strange for a Saturday night? We took home some fresh pasta to cook and some porcini sauce. It was delicious but I was disappointed by the whole experience. Pasta for two, sauce and some pecorino cheese cost us about 21 dollars.
Pasta Fresca has the most amazing delicious food on salt spring island. Genuine Italian authentic food. My personal favourite is the porcini mushroom cream sauce on fresh pasta. You can also order one of their amazing pizzas with organic flour and tomato sauce to take home and heat there. So much better than the $7 frozen pizzas at the store.!
Update 2022: Still absolutely astounding. You can see and taste the quality ingredients. I cannot believe how good this is. Made a special trip to come over to Salt Spring just to get the pasta here. You absolutely must try the pesto pasta. The employees were friendly and happy to serve us. 10/10 would yum again. Original review 2019: Without a doubt the best pasta I've had outside of Italy. Very high end ingredients and many options for pastas. They sell the sauces and cheeses for topping as well. Reasonably priced too, the dishes you'll order easily feed two.
We ordered three pizzas, received one promptly but waited 45 minutes for the other two pizzas as there seemed to be one mixup after another. The owner laughed when we complained about the amount of time the lengthy delay and there was not so much as an apology for the length of time it had taken.
The atmosphere around here is what salt Spring is all about!! Music in the park, romantic sunsets with good vibes! I ordered a meat lasagna and it was amazing! Honestly, if you are craving some pasta, head over to Del Vecchio!!! Noodles were perfect, even had a few well done edges which is what I like the creamy cheese just added to the mix! Definitely will be going back. 6 stars in my eyes?
Simply fantastico!! Real Italian fresh made pasta dishes, large portions, amazing authentic pizza by the huge slice. Reasonable prices. Great espresso. It doesn't get any better than this if you like pizza and pasta.
Pasta is really fresh and tasty! But the pizza was barely warm and it took a while to get.
Ordered pizza, sauce tasted like Catellis from a can. Crust was good. This was as bad of a pizza as one can get for that price. Disappointed.
Had a delicious pasta and salad here, pasta is made fresh and was the perfect texture. Price was reasonable, especially since the serving was so large.
If you ever visit Salt Spring Island you must eat here Pizza! Pizza was incredible. Bread was fresh and still warm. It was nice to be able to see the pizza dough and pasta being made in the back while we ordered our food. Service was friendly and quick.
