Deer Mountain Inn is hands down the best dining experience in the Hudson Valley and surroundings. The staff is polished, professional, warm, and human. Food and drinks are perfect. Ambiance, from the furniture to the fireplace is impeccable. I have worked in fine dining for almost two decades and this place gets my seal of approval. Whether you're having a full dinner or just drinks, I cannot imagine how you might be disappointed. 6/5 stars.

My third or fourth trip. It is a magical place to visit on a evening! The atmosphere is classic, heartening back many decades with mounted deer heads, fireplaces, dark wood, and small cozy rooms. Menu is prix fixe, 7 " tasting courses" now without any choices. So get ready for VERY strange food, with lots of ash (!) on everything... on purpose! Grilled lichen, venison tartare.... If such is not your cup of tea, will don't go hungry. $75/person seems pretty steep for such fare unless you just go for the atmosphere. Service is great!

Excellent service. Fantastic and impressive dinner and bar menu. Excellent wine list; they even had a 7-course Tasting menu with wine pairings. Very knowledgeable and attentive staff. Friendly too. Extremely cozy and clean. It is a dreamy place. All was well- thought out and we felt very welcome. We look forward to returning and highly recommending to our family and friends.

The Deer Mountain Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The building is charming and inviting. The grounds were beautifully maintained with a diverse variety of wildflowers, stone terraces, and ample choices for sitting to take it all in. Tons of humming birds buzz by you. I wish our room had a screen. The air was so cool outside and I would have rather had the windows open rather than the ac unit. But still, I would highly recommend DMI. Didn't eat dinner here but the breakfast variety and freshness is superb.

Wonderful place to stay. Great staff, great service, perfect rooms. Couldn't ask for a better weekend getaway.
