Their bread is AMAZING! I've tried three different kinds of their loaves and every one has been absolutely incredible. I look forward to loading up with more delicious loaves every time I go. Their cookies are also fantastic as well as their amazing selection of vinegars, mustards and other delicious looking accoutrements
Great addition to the neighborhood. Was greeted and got a "tour" of all of the types of bread and told what is a saturday special and what they have every day. Both employees were so friendly. The cheese and fig loaf is shockingly soft in the middle. And the sesame, kale and cheese scone was perfect. Yum! Will be back.
Real bread is the bomb. And real bread is found here! We love this shop. The breads are even made on site. I met one of the owners just before the place opened and she was so friendly and so passionate about good breads. I also love chatting with Tessa when I stop by every other week from Burlington. So thoughtful and pleasant. The shop's building is very plain and unassuming on the outside, but it's so clean, bright, and charming on the inside. The breads are phenomenal. And there's an interesting array of fresh pastries and packaged treats, too. I always buy the very nutritious and truly delicious Porridge loaves. Today I also bought some of the white 3-cheese bread. It's soft on the inside, crusty on the outside. Its taste and texture are just lovely. Because it's all high hydration bread the newer, far better way of making really great artisan breads, I find it best to let our Porridge loaves sit in a bag on the counter overnight and then, to slice, repackage, and freeze them the next day. It's still very moist, but slices for packaging far more easily. The irresistible cheese loaf cut very easily today and it was a real treat! It was hard to stop. Thank you all at Dear Grain. Helen K. p.s. A great place to pick up a hostess gift, too!
Great selection of Vegan and non-vegan breads. We are loving the Nordik loaf right now. We are definitely adding Dear Grain to our favorites list.
I bought a table loaf and although the flavour was great, I found it under fermented. The bread was very gummy and almost wet on the inside. Maybe it was only that batch though so I’ll try again!
Are there 10 stars? I don't have words to describe these breads. They are perfection!!!! Saw this place featured on IG. Visited today for the 1st time. You can smell what you're going to taste as you walk in. Service was cheery and welcoming. Young lady described all the breads available at the time. They do a different feature every Thurs. Today was a cheese bread Parmesan & fig. Bought that, plus a regular country loaf, plus choc chip and peanut butter cookies. Embarrassed to say that I tore into both the minute I got home. Who needs anything but a great loaf of bread and a glass of wine!
Amazing bread! Could you please remove the tip prompt for people who pick their own order and bring it to the counter? The store just opened, are the employees already underpaid? Seems like a cash grab in a time of recovery.
Picked up their Chocolate Cherry granola on a whim and turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. Wish I lived closer, would definitely buy again!
Interesting spot. They have wonderful breads and flours. Worth the drive for really excellent flour. I will be back!
The seeded sourdough is the best bread I've ever had. It's a weekly purchase for me. I eat the first third by just ripping it apart - it's that good. It's definitely one step up from other local sourdough. You can order for pickup on their Tock website for Fridays which makes it convenient for me. I do wish they had other days of the week for pick-up, but so far that's only bothered me once or twice when leaving for the cottage early. Carrot loaf was ok, but the lemon loaf is very tasty.
