I'll start with the fact I love breakfast. It is one of my favourite because it can set the pace for the day. Speaking of pace, this can be on the heavy side. The Dutch Coffee comes with a whip cream and some liquid chocolate topper, and marries a mocha with more cream obviously. The crepe is pillowy and chewy, which has an amazing texture to it. Because this is the specialty it takes the best parts of a pancake being fluffy, but makes sure it isn't too rich, and the flatness of a crepe so that it's not too thin and also not too thick so it can flex and curl around contents. The addition of meat is bonus and salty, but good and the best addition is the generous side of hollandaise. All in all, if you want a continental breakfast in a different way but still enjoy the contents of one, this is a great way to enjoy it on an edible plate the crepe.
This is one of the few brunch/breakfast restaurants in Tsawwassen that offers such an extensive menu. There's regular breakfast fare and there's Dutch pancakes. The food is a little expensive for breakfast, the pancakes range from $18-$24. I ordered the Boer's Pannenkoek as it offers a selection of all the meats plus eggs and hash browns. The pancake is served with a dish of hollandaise and their house syrup. I have to warn you, it's alot of food, the pancake itself has a nice texture to it and remains soft and chewy and maintains its texture throughout. I quite enjoyed the pancake! The meats are fairly standard fare and there's a lot of it, I'd recommend eating this with a healthy amount of their syrup to balance out the salty meats. Overall, great friendly and attentive service, good pancakes and I look forward to trying a sweet one next time!
The place is very clean. Not very busy. Follows covid protocols and staff are extremely nice. Food is great and not too salty. Healthy food choices available. I will definitely come back here.
The food was good, but the service was very slow from taking the order to getting the food.
Great food. Great service. It's really bright and airy there. Fresh orange juice made by a machine that you can watch. Food is pricey though. Ordered the Boer's Pannakoek with berry syrup and whipcream and a quesadilla paired with a ham and pea soup. Definitely hit the spot. Note that if you sit on the tall tables you might feel a bumping against your back from the appliances in the kitchen. We didn't mind too much but it was a surprise at first. Highly recommend this place.
Terribly disappointed when we visited restaurant for the first time. First of, I didn't care for the flies flying around inside. Might as well eat outside if I have to contend with flies. Second, we sat by the window and there were dried up spiders in the corner both inside and outside of the glass. We ordered coffee with our classic pancake and sat there without our coffees for a long time. When the coffee finally came, my wife asked for a spoon to stir the cream with. The waiter brought one spoon and expected us to share it. When the pancakes were served, the waiter quickly ran away. I had to call out for cutlery, otherwise we would have to eat it with our hands. This happened to the adjacent table too. Food served without cutlery or napkin. The pancake was just ok. I was surprised how little mushrooms and ham was given for a $4.86 charge 2-toppings. The ham was cut into small pieces, almost the size of the chopped mushrooms. The batter was just ok. I certainly had better Dutch pancakes elsewhere. As for value, I doubt we would return. I was still hungry after eating the pancake which was unfortunately priced at $16. I think a medium pizza would fill me more but who orders a pizza at breakfast? One more thing, the waiter needs to wears deodorant. Every time he walked by, I wanted to gag. With the flies, spiders and BO, it was not a great breakfast.
Food is great as usual. High quality protein options. A little pricey but somewhat justified. Only issue is how long it takes from ordering to having the food on the table. I don't blame the servers, just the economy that's causing most places to be short staffed!
This has been the absolute worst experience. Our drinks arrived after our food. We asked for a straw it came , after we asked twice.. AND after we were near finished our food. When the food got to us, the young girl delivering our food just missed my head with the plate, causing me to fully duck. We watched the support staff 4 young ladies hangout by the kitchen talking.. while 5 tables were sitting there absolutely filthy. We didn’t get quality checked, we asked for our bill twice. Our hash browns were uncooked and hard. Absolute worst service.
Big portion, affordable price and good quality is not bad
Service was great, but the food tasted like it had given up on life. I had the french toast and it was dry, eggy and chewy. The cottage bacon they served with it didn't remind me of bacon at all. I think it's just deep-fried thinly sliced ham. Please, for $18, just give me some real bacon. I feel like DeDutch is where corporations go to test new cost-savings measures, like seeing how much sawdust they can put into the french toast mix before people will notice.
