i worked for this man and its been 6 months and i still have not been paid i keep being lied too and getting the run around from him . he doesnt seem to care that there is a lien on his clients house as well do not hire this man as he will just call contractors and add 20 to 30 % on top of what they are charging while hes not even on site watching them work or doing his job . as soon as he has your deposit hes all ready moved on too the next job this is a review off the better business bureau website I hired John ***** and DBD Construction Group Sept 6 2016, for a 3 month renovation. John recommended I do NOT get a permit for their work and he would begin & apply later. A stop work order was put on for 6 weeks. John was reckless and disorganized. I had to manage the project daily. His site manager ruined my front lawn by repeatedly driving on it. Destroyed my brick fireplace to rubble and left it. Left the door unlocked and got 3 walls graffitied. The house was not protected and much damage was done. He kept asking for more money, I asked for receipts. I asked for a Statutory of Declaration to ensure he was paying his subcontractors. He refused. I had to move my family into a hotel for over 3 months. 6 months later on Feb 22 2017 John used ********* tactics by calling off all the subcontractors and their tool until I paid more money Quote "Let's stall her out".. The subcontractors phoned me to report it and stayed working for me because they were honest and loyal. ************************************************************ I will be taking John ***** and DBD Contracting to court. Buyer beware!!!!

Was hired and had to repeatedly be called to send guys to site. A 6 month job and the only thing completed was the fence, and not properly either. Invoices that always had to be changed cause of false charges. Would send invoice and demand immediate payment. Would remove guys from site until payment was received. Would promise to return workers once paid but when paid would not send guys to site when promised. Home owner looked after the job as john had no idea what was going on but he would still charge his management fees despite not doing anything. Liened owners house claiming he was owned 6600.00 despite the owner over paying him over paying him 3000.00 plus, and he was getting fined 200.00 a calendar day for being past the job completion date. Building material supplier liened the house as well because of non payment despite john being paid for the material. He demanded the 10% hold backs as per bc building law be returned after every invoice. He never registered the home for home warrenty despite giving an invoice saying he did and that invoice being paid.
