I read an article about this new chicken chain coming to the Hamilton area and I just had to try it. It is a small store front location with only seating for about 24 people and there were at least many people standing waiting for their order. It felt cramped, not very COVID-19 friendly. I waited in line for about 5 minutes then waited 25 minutes for 20 orders in front of me to get their orders. Given the line I expected to eat in my car, so I didn't order a drink but I did get a seat while waiting about half way into it as everyone eating when I arrived had left by the time I got my order. When it got to my order there were 20 people in the order line so i didn't bother getting a drink, I didn't end up needing one as the medium I ordered was not spicy, i suggest you get spicier than you normally would order if you want a spicy order. I guess they can improve service by having the number of the order currently servicing and estimated time between order and getting food so could have known it would take that long so I could have come back. The food was about average, I liked the fries the best as they were well seasoned. I liked the slider better than the chicken piece because it fit better as chicken meant for a sandwich as their chicken meat to breading ratio was kind of high which my kids would not enjoy, they love KFC popcorn chicken. The chicken was a real unprocessed piece of chicken which was nice, but i expected that given the high price per piece . The tender is something I would eat with a knife and fork which they provide along with a side of pickles and sauce it reminds me of Mac sauce. The chicken is very dry as the tenders only have a dry rub on it so it needs a sauce. Would I go back alone given the 25-30 drive from Hamilton and the long wait for food, probably not, unless someone wanted to try it and asked me to go with them. Parking: There were 50+ people in the store yet i parked in front of the store.
Got to the restaurant, ordered our food and got it within 10ish minutes. The chicken was seasoned amazingly and very moist. The fries were also very well seasoned. We got a mild and hot burger, was good to see that even if it's mild the chicken was still very well seasoned. The hot definitely had good kick to it. We went at an off time around 2 so there was no line in case that affected the review.
The line moved fairly quick and I got my food in a reasonable time considering it's a popular new restaurant and it was pretty busy. These might be the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had, I'm very satisfied. The tenders on the sandwiches were large and meaty and the sauce was tangy and tasty. I got the mild. The fries were soft and fluffy inside and perfectly crispy outside with a good amount of seasoning. The ladies that served me at the counter were nice and there was good music playing at a reasonable level while I waited. I'll definitely return.
Definitely picky when it comes to chicken. Dave’s was excellent we ordered the combo 1 & 2 which gave us 4 pieces of chicken so we tried no spice, lite mild, mild and medium. The chickens were juicy and very very tasty. The medium gave a little of a lingering kick but nothing too spicy. In the future I’ll probably get sliders over tenders. Will definitely try hotter next time. The sauce for the fries is . Recommend and will be back. There was a bit of a wait so prepare for that. Thanks :
This place has a lot of hype, decided to try it out with a few co-workers! The location is still fairly new and has pretty long wait times when ordering. Other than that, we were all pretty pleased with our experience. I could do without the slice of white bread that comes with the tender but the portions were fair and the chicken was flavourful and crispy.
So first time going to this restaurant. I’ve driven by Monday to Friday for the last few weeks and every day it is packed and it looks to have a lineup. Tonight it was rainy, cold and as I drove past, I saw only one person in the restaurant. So tonight was the night I decided to give it a try. The menu is very basic. There is only a few items. Basically it’s a chicken tender either by themselves on bread or chicken tender sliders. The spice it comes with can be either not spicy or extremely spicy. They have a chart of spiciness. The prices were a little higher than I expected for a couple of chicken tenders a couple of slices of white bread, a small fry and two pieces of sliced pickle. Overall, the chicken was good. It was flavourful and if I was in the mood, I would probably stop there again once in a while. Update to my review. Today I went in and had the chicken and I tried the mild spice. Let me tell you it tasted like somebody went in the closet and took every space. They had threw it into a bowl. Roll the chicken in it and said try this it was absolute garbage. It had no good flavour to whatsoever. You go get chicken wing somewhere usually they have different kind of spices are sauces. They have a nice tangy flavour or a nice sweet and nice heat. This stuff was just terrible. The amount of actual chicken you get for the price of this place it’s not worth it. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. You’re better. Going to Popeyes in getting a big chicken sandwich or something.
My daughter was in the area so had her pick me up some to go. I'm not sure exactly how long she waited but thankfully it didn't seem to be as long as others have mentioned. This was around 12:30 on a wednesday. I ordered the slider and fries combo with the chicken ordered extra hot. It definitely had a kick which was nice, but looked nothing like it does in their pictures. All these great looking pictures posted here are all from the restaurant. What you get definitely doesn't look anything like that. It was decent enough but nothing special honestly. Will I get it again? I'm sure at some point. But no rush. For the value I would say it's not terrible $13 and the one slider and fries filled me up.
The sliders taste great. This location could speed up their service however it’s understandable with the demand. Would’ve given it a 5 if they were consistent but it’s been great 3-4/5 times I’ve been here already. “Hot” has the right amount of spice imo!Recommended dishesCombo 4 Chicken Slider with Crinkle Fries
It was disappointing to see how poorly managed this new location is. I've seen lines outside the door on most days when I've driven by, but thought I would give it a try today, since there was finally no extended lineup. When I got inside, there were 8 to 10 people waiting on their orders, but only two people in line. I got there around 5:45 and ordered at 5:53 keep in mind there were only two people ahead of me in line. I didn't receive my order until 6:10. My order had also been sitting on the back counter for a few minutes, before the girl at the front had a chance to give it to me. There was only one staff person working at the front, who had to place orders and distribute finished orders from the kitchen, simultaneously. They should have at least two people taking orders and one person distributing completed orders to waiting customers. Now I see why there is always a line-up outside the door. It's unfair for that girl to have to manage everything on her own, and it's unfair to the customers who have to wait for a ridiculously long time. After I had placed my order, the line grew quite significantly and I saw at least two people leave, because they were tired of waiting in line. The sauce and seasoning on the chicken and fries is good, which is why I've not left a one star review. However, it's sad to see that this place is being managed as cheaply as possible. It is not going to last long, if they keep it up.
Visited Dave's Hot Chicken in Burlington and left deeply disappointed. First, the mac and cheese was a far cry from the appetizing version portrayed on their Instagram – it was excessively soggy and certainly not worth the $6 tag for the small tin it came in. The ambiance? Overwhelmingly loud music made it nearly impossible for the cashier to hear my order details and ruined any potential dining experience I could have had. To add to the grievance, I shelled out an extra $2 for a drink that's smaller than a McDonald's small size, and was charged $1.50 for a mere slice of cheese. The chicken tender, though flavorful, sat atop a piece of sopping wonder bread, overshadowing its taste. The only redeeming item was the fries. At $32 in total, I expected far more. Based on this experience, I'm not returning and I urge diners to consider my 2/5 rating before spending their hard-earned money here.
