The croissants are buttery perfection. Crispy, oily perfection. The breakfast croissant is absolutely everything you want it to be. Cheesy, meaty, juicy, flavourful. The alleyway entrance is shady in the morning which is nice in the Summer and comfortable sitting inside as well. Drip and iced coffee is available. :
My favorite bakery on the island! Amazing baked goods esp when fresh but still good next day in toaster oven. Daniel makes the best tiramisu as well! Go there early or you will be disappointed to find nothing left sorry no pictures of the goodies as I inhaled them before I took a picture
Excellent croissants that are made with love. Go early! They sell out by noon.
This is a truly amazing place. The baked goods are on a par with European bakeries, the croissants are amazing and fresh. The coffee is really good too, one of the best in the Cowichan Valley for sure. The ambiance is cozy and warm and Daniel and the lady who makes the coffee are very friendly. This is a great place for coffee and a pastry, but get here early as the pastries sell out quickly!
I would like to give a 0 rating; ordered a birthday cake from here & paid $40 for it. When we tasted the cake, it tasted horrible. Didn't have any sweetness in it. So we thought that maybe the bakery forgot to put sugar in the icing and so we took it back and told them the issue. They became all defensive and said that's how they make the cake with fresh cream and chocolate and no sugar. Apparently, healthy cake!! The icing was bitter and the cake was bland. I asked them if they can fix the cake as I had only cut a piece and when I was placing the order they had never told that the cake will not be sweet. They started arguing and being super rude. They did not give me another cake or refund. I left the cake at the shop and came away. I will never go back there. Don't ever order a cake from this place!! It's horrible!!
Absolute banger of a cafe, I go here as much as I can. Classic pastries, Korean fusion pastries, their bread, they don't miss. 5/5, please support these guys.
Awesome new place for me to have good coffee and wonderful baked goodies. The owners are delightful!
We would come here for Saturday dates. The pastries are just heavenly and drip coffee is superb.
I work downtown, one street over, and I try to grab my brunch from here as often as I can. Croissants have always been a favourite food of mine and Daniel simply makes the best ones I have ever had. I tend to gravitate towards the savoury croissants, with favourites being the ham & cheese, and double pepperoni & cheese. The flavour is balanced and the pastry is perfected. My only problem with them is that they are SO GOOD that I cannot eat croissants from anywhere else because nothing is as good as the ones Daniel makes. His dumplings are also absolutely incredible and when he has them available I like to buy a bunch. I also ritually get a latté and something sweet to go with it. usually a donut or chocolate hazelnut croissant, but today I got carrot cake which was also fantastic. The latté's are always wonderful and made with care. Best in town! A perfection combination to start my workday. Not only is Daniel and his family super welcoming and kind, but the atmosphere of his new spot on Kenneth ST is wonderful. Whether it's the decor, cozy seating, or the music playing through his Hi-Fi Marshall Amp, I always enjoy popping by. Thank you Daniel and family for working so hard and waking up so early so I can enjoy your delicious baking.
This place kinda hidden and a bit tiny but, once I got in the store, I was surprise how many people actually in the room. The sign to direct you to this place is very clear and obvious. I didn’t take the picture because I was so focused on choosing the croissants! They all look yummy!! I choose choco hazelnut sorry if this is not correct and apple struddle. The hazelnut ones oh yummm… I’m over the moon. Would love to come back next time.
