Lovely and well-designed hotel. Unfortunately, the description of the ordered room differed from what we got.The breakfast was quite good but minimal in terms of options. The croissants were almost always dry. Great location and stuff!
The location is very good and the room is very clean and tidy. If you like taking pictures, this is a room that will look great. But, as in European hotels, the size is small. Breakfast is not varied, but the basics are provided.
We ate at the hotel's restaurant for Christmas. The starter was really tasty attached. Main dish turkey was not very juicy, but it tasted good. Dessert yule log was fine too. The staff was kind and attentive.Rooms: 4/5
It’s an odd place this. Overall, Hotel Dandy is a nice hotel. It’s trendy, clean, well finished and in a good location round the corner from a station. However, if you are planning, as we did, to travel to the hotel in a car, I’d urge you to look elsewhere as it is next to impossible to pull up outside Hotel Dandy as it’s situated within a pedestrianised street. We wouldn’t have minded this had concessions been made for it in terms of baggage transfer etc but they haven’t plus the recommended car park round the corner was an alarmingly threatening place that we weren’t prepared to leave our car in and judging by the plentiful reviews of cars being broken into, we were right not to. You probably won’t be disappointed by Hotel Dandy once you’re in it but unless you arrive on foot, getting in is not as straightforward as it should be.
Beautiful room but the service is nowhere near how it should be for a 4 star hotel at this price. Paying 450€ for 1 night with breakfast I was expecting a certain standard of service. Arriving past 4:30pm I was expecting the room to be ready. It wasn't. Fine, we are asked to sit and wait, without offering a simple glass of water. After a few minutes sitting I have to ask a glass of water and that if maybe since we're waiting we should be doing the check-in. -"Oh...you didn't do the online check-in?" The surprised hotel staff asked. Well, sorry, no, but you should know that... We finally get the room and start to relax as the room looks as advertised and is quite beautiful. I'm also removing a star for the lack of real king sized bed, instead you have 2 beds "glued" together with one sheet, but it won't prevent the beds to slide apart from each other since they're sitting on a hard wood floor... Time to get to the sauna we thought, as it was free of charge for all the guests. I call reception and ask to prepare the sauna an hour from then. "It will be ready, sir", great. We then proceed to the sauna with our room card and the door won't open... I go back to my room, call the reception : "Oh... I forgot to tell you, you have to come down and pick the key to the sauna room, sir. I'll bring it up to your room" Is this really a 4 star hotel? Like how did you get the certification? It was supposed to be our final magic night in Paris, instead we were so disappointed by how we were received that it almost ruined it... I could go on with details, like the absence of bathroom kits tooth brushes, comb etc ... that you expect at this price, But really, the very low standard of service in this hotel is what did it for me. Will never go back again. Do not recommend.
The decor is beautiful but we found the bar staff incredibly rude. On a few nights we had a drink at the bar before/after dinner and it was always slow. On our last night of a 7 night stay we waited 35 minutes for 2 drinks to be served. When I chased I was told they wouldn’t serve us as they were busy serving the restaurant guests who weren’t all hotel guests. The breakfasts were also very poor - not much choice and dried up scrambled eggs. And having to pay for decaf coffee on top after paying a high rate for the room is not acceptable. Finally the street outside is VERY noisy and seems to attract a lot of drunk/noisy people at all hours of the night. I didn’t have a single good nights sleep the whole week.
Well designed hotel. The rooms are a bit small and not well planned. Breakfast was really good. The location is ok. Really central and close to a big train station.
Absolutely delightful hotel in a great area in the 1st arrondissement close to Le Marais district. I was stunned to see how cute the Classic room was, and how amazing the area near the hotel is - there are so many little restaurants, cafes, and things to see not to mention Centre Pompidou and Les Halles are only a few minutes' walk in either direction. The staff were also incredibly kind and the room felt so luxurious. I absolutely would stay here again next time I'm in Paris!
The staff is very rude, telling you that "this is Paris", well, of course it is Paris, a wonderful city, but no one expects that attitude when I was complaining about the room: A room with bocled windows, not as advestised and these windows face a common walking area so your privacy is 0 staying there. There are better options in the city, the location is bad too, as it seems very dangeous to walk back to the hotel after dinner in the night.
Hotel location is very suitable for tourists who like shopping and dining to experience life in France deeply. breakfast is very good in here and great idea to stay here.Rooms: 4/5
