Had my chicken sandwich. Was fine. But my drink… my drink had black stuff in it. It looked like residue from the fountain, like it wasn’t properly washed… probably wouldn’t go again for lunch.
a fast solid dairy queen where they hire at 15$ an hour and get tips. It is well staffed and they support local sports teams. A staple in New Hope/Crystal for generations. My bus driver would stop here on fridays in the 1980s on the way home from school and it is Still a treat!
This DQ is a small, seasonal, walkup location on a busy street intersection. During my visit, it was busting with customers and the parking was tight, but the service and treats were good as always. This is a quality and easily accessible location if you simply want dessert; this is not a Grill and Chill with a full menu.
The guys that were working there tonight were so nice. The restaurant was well stocked with treats to go, including ice cream cakes. I was surprised that they have dairy-free Dilly Bars. I have never seen them before.

We love this dairy queen! My review is based off of the comparison between this location and others in the Twin Cities that I have been to. The staff is attentive, pleasant, offers you a lid to go for your blizzards, and even puts the right amount of candy pieces into your blizzards. I've been to some Dairy Queens that really cheap you on the candy pieces, and others that put so much that you have no ice cream. Which is weird that the topping ratio changes because they're all a franchise. This location's staff additionally put a few of my candy pieces on top of the blizzard and a drizzle of chocolate! What a cute surprise. The picture attached is after I took a couple of bites of one side before I remembered to take a picture.
I was SUPER excited that this DQ had Old Fashioned Sodas which are hard to find and I've been enjoying for 50 years, BUT the staff is inconsistently trained. Once I was told they're all one size, another they're only 2 flavors, another time they made it wrong. I wish they were all trained the same. So, I went back to my other location across town. : Otherwise, it's great they have a long season and good hours.
It's a walk up. Not grill and chill. No drive thru. Very nice servers and it's Dairy Queen - of course it's delicious!
