Story

Daily Bread & Mercantile is a small family owned business in Ellensburg, Washington. It was created from a desire to provide fresh baked goods, specialty bulk foods, deli meats and cheeses, and a healthy option for lunch to the community. Our principle is to uphold honesty, integrity, fair price for our products, and old fashion hospitality and friendship!

This place is truly special.nnI had one of the freshest sandwiches I’ve ever tasted — you can tell the bread is made in-house and everything feels incredibly high quality and thoughtfully prepared.nnBeyond the food, the space itself is so warm and inviting. It doesn’t feel like a typical business — it feels like people genuinely care about what they’re creating. There’s a beautiful selection of handmade and curated items: candles, spices, grains, unique flours, kitchen goods, and more.nnI also picked up a lavender tallow balm with frankincense, and it just adds to the feeling that everything here is crafted with intention.nnSuch a cozy, soulful spot. You can feel the heart behind it.nnHighly recommend if you’re in Ellensburg.
Had a wonderful lunch at Daily Bread! Ordering takeout was easy. They had a great selections of sandwiches. The Sweet & Salty was fantastic. Had cheese bread. The amount of meat on the sandwich was excellent. Enjoyed the flavor of everything on the Sandwich. They also had a great selection of kettle chips to enjoy as a side. The wait is a few minutes, as they are definitely busy at lunch time. But the wait is worth the great food! Worth a return visit or 2 !
Eight years ago we stopped here on a whim on the way from Spokane back home. We got some sandwiches and loose leaf tea to take home. It never left my mind. Eight years later, I'm reminded why it left an imprint on my mind. The sandwiches are so fresh and prepared simply - it's like going to your friend's house and their mom prepared lunch. The soup was also incredible. They were so nice and friendly as well. We got the special of the day sandwich you can't really go wrong with anything here, the roast beef and provolone sandwich, and the soup just get a soup, doesn't matter which one. We also bought a bunch of loose leaf teas and other random stuff to bring home. I hope it's not another eight years before I come back here.
Daily Bread is such a great little place to stop in quick or to meet with a friend and chat. My favorites are their quiches & their soups. Tastes like homemade! This will continue to be a spot we support with our business. Wonderful people behind the counter as well!
Daily Bread is incredible. I often come for lunch and have had many items on the menu. The bread is fresh on every sandwich I have. The smoothies are clean and taste delicious. The soup rotation provides a solid variety and is made day of I recommend the clam chowder on Fridays. The salads dressings are homemade. And the pastries, delectable. It’s a wonderful place to meet for business, friend meet ups or just to stop in for a quality lunch break. Locally inviting and fresh offerings, that’s what I like about Daily Bread
