Our first time here. My daughter Bella and I ordered BBQ chicken, dressing, Mac and cheese, yams, cornbread and peach cobbler with pink lemonade. Not bad for $23.62.Food: 4/5
I saw their post on Facebook and decided to try them out. Very disappointed I ordered the Turkey wing dinner with my sides greens and dressing asked for cranberry sauce. Once got to window no Turkey wings so I ordered smothered pork chops instead. Firstly they gave me a plate full of salty gravy meat no where to be found in gravy my sides of dressing looks like brown mashed potatoes with no cranberry sauce I asked for twice and the greens taste like they came out of a can . Waste of money there is nothing soul food about my food 20 bucks wasted. I will not be going back .
I wanted to taste a couple of the side dishes so I could decide if I was going to order more so I chose the kid menu which included two pieces of chicken 1. the chicken was tasty but the portion was the smallest chicken I had seen in a while. 2. I guess I was more disappointed with the two side dishes. I had chosen stuffing and mac and cheese.... When I opened my container these portions were so small I would say anywhere from 2 to 3 tablespoons and the three tablespoons is being generous.... 3. I did not care for the stuffing as it was on the sweet side like the cornbread itself it tasted like mashed up cornbread. 4. the mac and cheese was very tasty after I reheated it and it it became quite creamy.... 5. For what I paid little under $10 I thought it was a bit pricey for what I received.
I wanted to give this establishment another try. The Turkey Wing was salty and dry. No muffin or cranberry sauce with the meal. The reason i didn't want the return the first time was because the portions were too small for the price. I should have checked the meal before driving off. I am hoping your company will pay more attention to the meal prep and if the meal is presentable before serving and selling to the customer.
I recently purchase some food from D A Deli on Calumet in South Holland we’re I had baked chicken, Mac n cheese, cabbage, and sweet potatoes everything was good except the sweet potatoes which tasted like they got them out of a can, and they were not cooked well at all. I also purchased a piece of Carmel cake which was old and dried out. The cake was really a pound cake with carmel on it. Cake should be fluffy not thick like a pound. Overall I would go back and eat there again just minus the sweet potatoes, and cake.
Why didn't anyone tell me about this place. This food is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. This is not how soul food is supposed to be prepare. I ordered the turkey wing dinner with dressing and fried corn. Sounds good don't it. Well it was trash. The dressing was cornbread mush, the fried corn was Burnt cream style corn and the turkey wing was tough and dry like I was arm wrestling it. This was a waste of money. I will never purchase any food from this establishment every again. The only bright spot was the peach cobbler it was on point.
It was "Ok". The customer service was excellent!!! But $18 is a lot for a sandwhich and a .25 bag of chips small sweet tea... will try something else next time If I return.
Me and my family really use to enjoy coming to there location in county club hills & Orland… They’ve completely fell off!!! Customer service is horrible food doesn’t taste the same..
I hope i just caught them on a bad day! I went Sunday about 630pm and i didnt enjoy any of my sides. Fish was good. Pork Chops were good but cold.Food: 2/5
Finally tried this place after passing it up for months. I ordered the turkey meatloaf. I was highly disappointed. The turkey meatloaf wasn’t fully cooked. The inside was pink. I didn’t notice this of course until I made it home which was 25 min away. Never again will they get my money.
