Had a lot of fun here. Was not sure where to start but staff are great and provide suggestions. Nikita was fantastic and we loved the games chosen for us to try. Very clean and welcoming. My only suggestion is more variety of snacks to choose from at the snack bar please : Will 100% return.
Visited on a Wednesday and it was all empty. They do have great variety of board games for game lovers. The place is huge and the seating is nice. Coffees taste good and popcorns are nice to have snacks. Alot of food was finished or not restocked so not everything is available at all times. Chill place to hangout
- Parking lot just outside of the cafe - Affordable flat rate of $10 for the DAY instead of hourly rate - Good variety of games, including some rare/unique ones, and also Chinese classics like Mahjong, Chinese checkers/chess - Games are COLOUR-CODED with stickers based on difficulty level which is amazing for the indecisive like me - Very spacious and clean, with BIG TABLES for games which is nice. Lots of space between tables too, so I don’t have to eavesdrop on other parties conversations - Privates rooms available to reserve for larger parties - Drink and snack menu is great, includes common coffee beverages, milk teas and D6 crafted concoctions , but NO ALCOHOL which makes it a family-friendly place and doesn’t reek of alcohol and nobody will get drunk . Includes self-serve water station to stay hydrated. Loved every bit so far! Nothing negative!
Clean and open layout inside. Plenty of selection for games of different difficulty and amount of players. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the games, and were helpful with suggestions and explanations to new players. Standard Cafe caterings with drinks and light snacks, enough to hold you over while you stay. Price was very reasonable at $10 per person and you can stay as long as you'd like and play as many games as you'd like during your stay. I'd recommend this place for family outings, a hangout place with friends, and it would be good for couples too. A great spot for alternative entertainment in the northeast.
Happy I stumbled into this place earlier today. As a cafe hopper, i think I found a spot I can frequent! The vibe is chill and the coffee was pretty good. The people are also very nice! Will come back with friends to try out the vast array of games available.
The staff were so nice about explaining how the cafe works and how their games are organized. Which is the best organization system for a tabletop cafe I've ever seen. Staffer Brenden was well versed in rules for every game we tried, and knew exactly when to swoop in to help explain. Well lit, clean, chill + friendly atmosphere, delicious snacks, huge selection of games, and private rooms for groups. Yup, I'm pretty sure it's near perfect. AND card sleeves on every card in every game, so no gross, sticky, soggy, bent, torn, or old cards! <3
I made it to the D6 Tabletop Café out of chance and curiosity. I had just wrapped up dinner and drinks with a friend across the street at Joeys. I noticed their sign and wanted to take a look at what they where about. I met some really great people who were absolute passionate about board games. I wanted to get a coffee and they happily made me one. It was no Starbucks but it still did the trick. I would recommend going in with some friends and discovering the art of unplugging from tech for while. Especially if you enjoy board games. Great hosts thanks again everyone. James
Fun and clean spot. Nice and enthusiastic staff. Reasonably priced in general. Two delicious Lattee, 2 banana bread, 2 hours of gaming, unlimited lemon water, constant check ins and recommendations for games from staff, $42 with a tip. Can't complain there. Well spent. Candy is expensive which was a tad disappointing but besides that everything was 10/10. Will return given the opportunity. Great spot.
Great game selection + the games are in excellent condition. Big, open and inviting space. Friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. Even the cute D20 dice roll for 5% off the nerdiest/best described drinks is awesome. Quite enjoyed and will return. Well done!
Don't know why I never posted a review here before! Easily the best place in Calgary to play games! Huge selection, good price, nice private rooms, and a wonderful dedicated staff! So accommodating, considerate, and knowledgable, it's clear that this place is made by and for board game lovers. Even the stuff they didn't have to get right they nail: the selection they have for sale deserves a look through as sometimes they have the best deals in town, and the actual cafe part offers delicious food and drinks! It's not often a place like this comes around, don't pass it up!
