I lived in the basement suite of an apartment at 2245 Osler St. that they owned for 2 years. It was a building that had burned down once that they'd rebuilt. All sorts of problems and the landlord wasn't quick to take responsibility.
The floor was buckling upwards, stopping the only door from opening all the way, and the walls were bulging outward from the floor. There was a mouse infestation throughout the building. The bathroom had a leak. The old silicone started stripping away from the tub which caused black mold to grow.
There was a huge crack in the stairwell that they'd nailed a board over but on days when it rained a certain direction, water would pour onto the stairs. The crack was also stretched past both ends of the board.
Items were removed from storage by landlord without the landlord talking to the tenants who owned them. For example, my toboggan went missing. The landlord had given it to some kids out of the assumption that it didn't belong to any current tenants.
Hot water tank was going so hot water would run out within a couple minutes.
On the plus side, they did allow me to have a real Christmas tree. That's why they get 1 star instead of the 0 they should. Also, 0 is impossible to give so I needed some excuse for them to get one.
