A small family run Caribbean joint with a long legacy. This place has the best Caribbean rotis in town. The goat and chicken rotis are its delicacy with your choice of spice level. The baked pie with meat fillings are delicious. The place is typically busy between 11:45 and 12:15. Parking spots are available in the complex.
Had the large goat roti and a double, both hot. Roti was delicious and the goat was perfectly cooked. Everything had great flavour. The double wasn't as great as the roti but still good. Definitely try to get here before the lunch rush as the line builds up fast.
The best Caribbean rotis I have found anywhere, and that includes the Caribbean itself! The roti wrap itself is fresh with the perfect texture—just the right mix of chewy and flaky. The curry is deliciously savoury if you opt for a little less heat. It’s so good I always ask for extra gravy. It’s absolutely packed with perfectly tender meat; I usually go with the beef, personally, and they do not skimp on the meat. And of course, if you’re feeling bold, you can always amp up the heat! The curry is hot… but not as hot as the chefs!
Absolutely amazing! Quick service and unreal flavours!! This is definitely a fan favourite in the area and you can see why. The curry goat roti is filling and flavourful. Authentic and iconic spot.
Tried this for the first time yesterday and loved it! Best way I could describe it is a traditional roti blended with a Jamaican patty. Quite delicious, and the sauce that comes with it is . I absolutely adore D Hot Shoppe! I work close by and whenever I feel like take out or forget my lunch, this is the place I think about. The food is SO delicious and flavourful, the pictures look EXACTLY like what you get and the prices are on point. I usually order the goat roti, or pholourie but have tried the jerk chicken meal as well.. equally as good! Highly recommend. Tip: order extra gravy, honestly you never have too much!
The flavour was good BUT the portion size of the shrimp roti and dinner was small even though I paid extra for a large. The jerk chicken dinner however was a good size.
Food is okay, I ordered large goat roti, large jerk chicken roti, and large jerk chicken dinner. Both the roti’s I thought lacked flavour. The meat was nice and tender, lots of potato. Roti portions are a bit small compared to other roti restaurants. Jerk chicken dinner was good, portion was a good size, rice was delicious, chicken was tender.
Excellent goat roti. Great place for takeout. Fast, friendly and a reasonable price. Call ahead for your order - they are quite popular and can be quite busy at lunch.Food: 5/5
See here…this is the number one spot for West Indian Cuisine in Burlington…perhaps in the GTHA! Prices are right, there’s a wide selection to chose from, and the owners and staff are always pleasant and kind. If you ain’t had food from D Hot Shoppe yet, what you waiting for?
