Great people! I loved my time from fitting to completing my transaction. The store has a knowledgeable and very helpful team. They were also very considerate of my budget and are transparent on the cost of a pair of skates. Excited to finally get back on ice after a 9-year break once my lessons start!
Wish I knew about this place sooner. I received the best customer service. I suggest all figure skaters and hockey players come visit the "Phantom Menace". He is very knowledgeable on products and techniques to improve your performance. No upsell, just genuine, personable advice. We had a great time getting our son fitted for his first pair of figure skates and getting his hockey skates customized. Our son didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back to see Tarrah and Giovanni again.
This morning I went to Cyclone for the first time to get my skates sharpened. I was nervous because this was my first pair of skates I had bought from another person and I went to get them sharpened for the first time. Giovanni was the one who helped me out with sharpening my skates. He was so nice and professional, understanding that this was my first time sharpening my skates and my first pair of skates. He taught me how to properly tie them and that my blades weren’t good for my balance when it comes to spins and things like that. The store overall had great customer service, amazing staff, and good prices. I would love to come back.
I cannot say enough great things about the experience I had today at Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating! I am an adult beginner from Seattle who had an awful skate buying experience with a local dealer. After meeting fellow skaters at my local rink, I heard about Cyclone, and was told it's worth the drive over the border. IS IT EVER!!!!!! From the time I entered the shop I was treated like a VIP. I had spoken with Cynthia a few days before driving up, and she had ordered boots for me to try on based on the measurements I gave her over the phone. She nailed it in terms of fitting me with a very comfortable boot, and had me try on several boots in order to make sure the boot we discussed was the one. She put a lot of thought into both what boot would work for my feet and skating goals, and though she had ideas as to which blade would work best for me, she consulted with the shop's very knowledgeable skate tech Gio to ensure my skate/blade package was tailored to my needs. It was great to have Gio on site, as he fit me for the blade that best matches my level. It was amazing to be able to walk in, try on boots, mount/sharpen blades, and walk out with my new skates within a couple of hours. That is unheard of in the Seattle area. What an amazing team of professionals! I will not hesitate to return to Vancouver for any skating needs that arise in the future-as far as I'm concerned Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating is THE PLACE to go! I can't wait to get my new skates out on the ice!
The technicians at this shop are top notch and will take the time to correctly assess your needs and fit you to the appropriate skates. Their repairs are always spot on with expertise that is hard to find anywhere else. The shop has been operating for many years and their experience shows in the care and attention they give to their customers. Many places upsell and put in hidden costs, but I'll continue to keep coming here for their consistent service and reliability.
When it was time for my daughter to get a new pair of figure skates, we got recommended by the my daughter's primary coach go to this very store to see this staff named Neil. Every other kids in the club on the same skill level as my daughter were recommended by their coaches to get Jackson's Freestyle, so we were expecting to get the same. Upon visiting the store and found Neil, despite we told him the fact that wide foot runs in our family, he proceeded to took measure of only the length of my daughter's foot. When talk to him about getting the Freestyle, he said it was out of stock and backordering would took 2 months. He then recommended us getting Jackson Elle, which is a lesser softer model than Freestyle, BUT he would "upgrade" the blade to the same one that came with the Freestyle, and quoted us the same price as the Freestyle for the package. So in short, he wanted to charge us the same money as the Freestyle, but with an inferior boot?!?! We left the store and bought our Freestyle elsewhere and it was cheaper too. Upon chatting with other parents in the skating club, many had similar bad experience with the store, and in particular with the store staff Neil. This store, being the only pro-figure skate shop in the heart of Vancouver, already monopolizes the market among the 15+ skating clubs in the local for decades. And yet their staff pays no attention to the customer's needs, focuses solely on selling their overstocked model of skates, and furthermore trying to upsell you for unnecessary blade upgrades. Not to mention the fact that their prices are already higher than other shops for the same products. It's an overpriced store run by staff with shady practice that cares only about make money from you. Steer clear and shop elsewhere.
I had a very poor experience here. As a person of colour it was awful. I found staff to be rude and condescending. They assumed I didn’t know how To skate, but when I let them know I skated competitively for a long time, they gentleman pitched in: then give her the $2000 skates. Also staff wouldn’t make eye contact with me when I was there. I remember this snobby culture when I was Younger, looks like these people are still around. If you’re a humble down to earth human, these might not be your people.
Thank you to the Cyclone Taylor Team for your many years of friendly and knowledgeable service! And a very special THANK YOU to Tarrah and Gio for all your help and expert advice! My older daughter needs new skates and both Tarrah and Gio were very patient in showing us all the different brands and boot models that could be suitable for her and will order them in to have her try them on to see what she feels best in. With the blades we want on backorder, Tarrah immediately advised me of this and put our name down to reserve the needed blade sizes. Gio also helped my younger daughter with her new skates and blades and as always, provided expert advice on what to be aware of when skating in the new skates, and also on how to tie these new skates as opposed to her old skates, to get the best feel and bend, but also to ensure that the tongue does not break down prematurely due to improper tying. We have come to this store for many years and my daughters are comfortable with expressing their needs to everyone here. I also observe this with many other customers in the store, who come in for skates and servicing, but also to converse with the staff, which showed their personal rapport that goes beyond just business. Thank you Tarrah, Gio, and Cyclone Taylor Team!
The clerk there, Cynthia, was so kind and helpful! We had a great time looking at all the things they had, and the skate sharpening was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
I love the store! They full fill the skaters necessities. It’s great to have you because you recommend me the best skate and blade for my skills and you always make sure that I have the right fitting and work in any discomfort I have on my skates! You are great! Highly recommend
