Came here for the first time, just after it opened for the day. A popular place, with many people coming and going. We purchased fresh breads and buns, fruit tarts/butter tarts/coconut tarts and boston cream donuts. All excellent! Although the sign in the window says "for sale/sold" they assure us that the business is not going anywhere!
Don’t understand estimate the aesthetic when you walk in the door! Everything was delicious! Highly recommend coming in early because items go fast!
I have been coming to Culbert's since I was a young teenager. I have never purchased a product that I didn't like, whether it be cream donuts, cherry bread or lemon jelly donuts. And don't forget the round loaves of bread , sold in the sixties ! I could go on and on. The changing of hands seems to have been a smooth transition. The bakery goods are still the best around. Special shout out to the staff both front and behind the scenes. They are cheerful and pleasant, never trying to rush you. Culbert's was and always will be the best! Carry on...
Mary Ellen, Michelle and Lynne were very helpful when we visited. We founds out that all the baked goods were original recipes with some exciting things to come. We had reserved a box of donuts thank goodness as there were only a handful still available when we arrived. WORTH the drive from Campbellville. We will be back!!
Come early if you want donuts, especially the cream puffs. But don't be mad if they are sold out! This place is great and widely known for their delicious donuts! The staff work extremely hard everyday to bake all the goodies in store and are superstars for how hard they work each day! It's not uncommon for there to be a line out the door of people waiting to go inside and make a purchase. It's well worth the wait! I absolutely love their cookies as well! The cream puffs are their most popular and they are super delicious! They also have pies, tarts and bread baked fresh as well.
Family Birthdays are celebrated with Colbert's cakes. The layer cakes are moist, and iced beautifully. When I went in to see about buying a last minute cake there were none available. The clerk said they could make one up, within 10 minutes I had the perfect celebration layer cake. The customer service was exceptional!!
Culbert’s just launched a signature coffee blend with Coastal Coffee and it is so good! The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and knew how the grind the beans based on my machine at home. Always a great experience with great treats!
We just stopped by this little bakery and ended up grabbing a bunch of tasty little baked treats as you can see. Most popular items are their fresh donuts and a variety of tarts.
The new owners seem to know what they are doing and l get the feeling that more I improvements will be coming. They do not seem to want to offend the loyal customer base, but they are trying to intice new customers. YOU MUST TRY THEIR CHOCOLATE BUTTER TARTS. The $1.75 per tart is a bargain for this incredible decadent creation. My suggestion if you plan to buy one, buy two of them. This tart hits a level of perfection that l rarely find. The staff that I met, were friendly, efficient, respectful, and engaging. I hope to increase there stars soon. They are breathing new life into what was a tired monument of Goderich.
Super polite and kind staff, great quality products. Best tarts around, only downside is if you get there later in day they may not have full selection, but thats just because they sell out from how good their products are. Can't say enough good things about this small shop.
