Had this back in August 2022. Was a short walk from the Boardwalk. Reasonably priced and loved the pizza so much! We are from north ontario and it’s been 9 years since I had this last time and I have been craving it since. Donair was great also. Ordered a pizza from the pubnico location for the first time and found their sauce to be less than appealing. So much in fact it didn't even taste like any tomato product even went into their sauce. It was really confusing to the point where I didn't even think there was sauce on it at all. I called back to tell them i didnt think there was sauce on it and I was immediately met with hostility during the call. They did offer to replace the pizza, which was admirable but the general feel of the callback was negative. When the delivery driver arrived with the replacement he was extremely rude to the point he made sure I knew he was physically upset. Worst customer experience and the worst pizza I've ever experienced. I would never treat someone like that in my restaurant.
A good friend of mine, and a local Pictou boy to be noted said you will never have a pizza as good as a Pictou county pizza. Well he is so correct. What a flavour and that brown sauce!!! I’ll be back!
Food and service is usually good. Sometimes there’s the one off bad experience but getting Acropole in pictou is always worth it in the end. The delivery people are always friendly even when super busy and food/delivery arrives in a good time!
They might have good pizza but the burger are terrible. Terrible burgers, very unhappy with this place. Burgers are very small, dry, overcooked and over priced. They are so small it wouldn’t have even filled one of my kids plus I had specific instructions to not give me a bun because im allergic to gluten but of course it came with a bun. Very disappointing all around. Never again
I’ve lived in Nova Scotia ten years now and had never tried a donair. I do not have an adventurous palate. A friend arrived from the US and my hubs spent the day driving us around Pictou County trying different Maritime foods and sampling several beaches. I’m 62 and have never ever tasted anything as delicious as the Acropole Donair. I’ve been drooling for another for over a week now…..
Very disappointed. Placed and order for delivery and after waiting over an hour I called to check on the status of the order, and found that they had it down for pick up, and then no it was going out soon to be delivered, to no the guy just left, this was all in the course of a 2 min call When the food arrived it was cold, no real surprise there. I will not be dealing with them again. Strong recommend avoiding ordering from here. This is sadly not the first time I had this issue here. Should have none better.
Pizza tasted great, had a unique “brown sauce” that is not your standard pizza sauce. It was cool for a change but I think I would prefer regular pizza sauce. The pizza was good, however there weren’t an abundance of toppings, and there was WAY to much cheese for my personal preference. Equivalent to ordering extra or even double cheese from most pizza joints. Open late and friendly staff.
Decent chicken Ceasars, had to go back and ask for forks to eat them though. Should be a no brainer to give you forks so you don't have to eat with your fingers???
Delicious pizza, big slices! Friendly staff. Our only complaint was getting out of there on an awkward corner.
