Kathryn and Adrian are welcoming hosts. This is an absolute delight to stay. I have extended for up to three nights it is so comfy. Great value for the money!nnMy suite was so unexpectedly big for the price and overlooked the river. Very quiet. Parking included.nnKudos to designer in updated and modern furnishings. So soothing with relaxing music.
Ended up here from a canceled flight and was so pleasantly surprised! Huge room, exceptionally clean, and super comfortable. I’ll definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in Trail!
Very beautifully restored historic hotel and quiet.nnNegative: They have a beautiful Bar/Lounge that is featured highly in their promotion of hotel. It was closed both night wr were there. Which was a Friday Valentines Day and Saturday. Hoping just a staffing issue while we were there because we did pop in and it is beautiful. Would have loved to apres ski their one evening.nnPros: Rooms are large and very well done. Also hotel is small so we rarely every saw other guests making it almost feel like our own apartment. The staff was very nice and accommodated our probably excessive requests for coffee everytime with a smile.nnGuest laundry available which was clutch after being last stop on 10 day ski trip.nnThings to be aware of:n-They do have free parking but it is not secure. But we had no problems.nn-No hot tub. But knew that going in just putting here for others.nn-Great location in Trail. But for skiers at Red... its worth it to stay in Rossland. The 2 towns have very different vibes for being only a few KMs from one another. Trail doesnt even seem to know they have an awesome ski hill just a short drive away. But if specifically going to be in Trail, no nicer place in town, Hands downs.
This is a fully renovated hotel and an old building. The rooms are ridiculously large and some with river view. The beds are super comfortable and rooms are exceptionally clean. Front desk folks are always friendly. Few things that slightly bothered are 1. All rooms have this scent, not foul but sort of old building, 2. Pillows are way too soft and flat. 3. The whirlpool fridge apartment size can be on the load side.
We stayed in Trail for our daughter's wedding and were really impressed with the Crown Columbia. Many of the wedding guests also stayed there and I didn't hear any negative comments at all. The building is a very old historic hotel so expect some quirks with the room layouts but the rooms have been recently renovated and were very nice and clean. I also have to give huge kudos to the front desk staff who were absolutely fabulous and looked after us and all our wedding guests. If your going to Trail this is the hotel I would recommend.
