Wonderful little cafe that offers a breakfast buffet probably just on weekends? or menu options. I ordered off the menu and was not disappointed, especially with the American fries so good!. Loved the small hometown-style feel. Saw lots of staff chatting with local families and adding to the warm atmosphere of Crouse. Breakfast was really good overall, bacon was fantastic. The pancakes were a bit on the sweet side I like the sweet to come from the syrup and these had what seemed like a strong vanilla flavor already but will definitely be back. Parking: Unless I missed it, this location does not have a parking lot - just street parking. Plenty of places along the street if you don't mind a little walk. Also lots of fun little shops to pass along the way and a great small-town atmosphere.
Found this spot on Google and it did not disappoint! The place was packed. Sunday around 12:30. Service was a little slow but our server was super nice and super attentive. We had omelets, French toast, biscuits and gravy and a ham and egg and cheese sandwich! With 2 drinks and the total was around $32!! We will definitely be back!!!
Can't beat the hometown Cafe atmosphere, delicious food, and best prices. The people there are amazing. I love Heidi and the Crouse family. You can easily find yourself becoming a regular and part of the family!Food: 5/5
Love this family business. Always a great experience. Can’t go wrong with their delicious breakfast. They also serve fantastic lunch and dinner. If you haven’t been to Crouse Cafe, hurry up and get there. Thank me later.
Delicious...home cooking done right. This place has fresh food cooked just like your grandma did it back in the day. The waitress we had knew her stuff and was very helpful. She made sure we were taken care of and had our food out to us in short order. Everything we ordered were hot and fresh and tasted so good. This place is worth the drive and everyone should give it a try. We are going back on the weekend when they have their buffett. We definitely will be back!
The fish sandwich was okay. The fries were nice. I don't like dirty dishes left on my table when I'm done eating. The dining rooms were pretty full around 1 pm on Sunday, but the wait wasn't that bad. I'll be back sometime to try another dish.Food: 4/5
Small-town dinner with a down home feel. I had a hot beef sandwich, tender beef, creamy potatoes and smooth rich gravy. The staff was welcoming and attentive.Food: 5/5
The portions are large and food is like grandma cooked. Fried chicken and potatoes and gravy are very good. Kristin sandwich is delicious too.Food: 5/5
Crouse Cafe in Indianola. This place was VERY clean. They recently had an employee test positive for Covid, so they had to close down. Today is the first day they have been open since. We watched them thoroughly clean each table before they sat people down. They’re very nice and energetic. Mom got the Turkey club with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were thin and crispy. And moms turkey club was very filling. I think she ate half and was full. The Hot Beef was GOOD. Real mashed potatoes. Homemade gravy not from a packet. AND it was only $16 total! I would definitely return here!!
Great food, great service, great price. That's it all in a nutshell. The pancakes are huge, bacon is thick and hasbrowns are plenty. It's a seat yourself dinning experience so don't wait for a host. Not open on Mondays. And they have breakfast buffet on Saturday & Sunday. It's a hole in the wall, local spot. A must go.
