In the world of malls the Crossgates is slightly above average. There are some closed stores and a lot of stores you never heard of.
This mall is great! I went on a Saturday mid-day, and it was practically empty. I couldn't believe how few people were there. It was easy to get around the mall, and it was well air conditioned which I always find key in these hot summers. There is pretty much every store you can imagine, though there are some empty storefronts throughout the mall.
This mall will forever hold a very special place in my heart because the redesign happened right around when I was in Junior High and as long as we could find one parent to take us and another to bring us home, my friends and I would go as often as possible! As an adult I still love this mall - the variety of stores, the design and layout, and even the parking lot isn't that bad if you know where to go! It was glorious in the 1990s and I just hope it can survive these trying times.
This mall makes me think of the "old days" where Malls were an experience and fun adventure. They have everything here from Dining Fast Food and sit down, stores and things to do. They have a Movie Theater, Dave & Busters, Bowling, Escape Rooms, Arcades, Trampoline Park, Billy Bees, the list goes on and on. And yes... there is a Starbucks.
This mall is great and has a huge selection of stores that arw hard to find just anywhere. It is home to many restaurant and entertainment options, including escape rooms, arcades, and a movie theater. Great to come up for the weekend and do some shopping there!
Crossgates is a reliable, clean not bathrooms though , nice mall. Good amount of shopping & food options, from higher-end like Apple to more accessible options. Unfortunately it was much better 10-15 yrs ago with Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and more — it’s gone downhill.
I went to Best buy, and was dragged through the mall by my child. I don't care for malls but as far as they go this one is pretty good. The food court is decent, but I really wish they would do something about the pushy people from the Chinese place harassing people with their little piece of me on a stick and coaxing them into the line. It's just annoying.
I'm not a mall shopper, but there are tons of stores and the mall appears well-kept. If you're looking for a mall in Albany, it's Crossgates. There is also Colonie Center on Wolf Rd. Just a short drive away. I sat in a restaurant in the Crossgates Mall and watched a mouse running across the floor right under people's feet. Yes... I understand rodents are a reality. So are exterminators. Beef it up!
My wife and I enjoy Crossgate Mall very much. During the winter we get our steps in and they open at 9am while the stores don't open until 10am. This gives us time for our daily steps without a crowd. One lap is nearly a mile!.
