Story

NOW OPEN in Carbonear!!! Crooked Phil’s Cafe will be the place to find amazing breakfasts, incredible lunches, and delectable baked goods prepared fresh daily by Phil, our Red Seal Chef. Our menu will have something for everyone, with daily specials that will be sure to tempt your taste buds.

With dine in or take out options available from 7:00am until 3:00pm daily. Choose from our selection of delicious piled high sandwiches, hearty soups, tasty mac n cheese and flat bread pizzas, fresh from our kitchen and ready for you.

Crooked Phil's Cafe will also offer evening bookings for private functions with unique menu options available. Just let us know your interest and we will strive to meet your needs. As well, Crooked Phil's will be offering special events organized by our in house Management and staff that will be sure to impress! Keep watching our facebook page for announcements.

We plan to build a reputation for providing good quality meals using fresh ingredients. We love to cook and bake from scratch so you don't have to!

My husband and I absolutely love this place. The service is the best. The food amazing. Be prepared to ask for a takeout container because the serving size is huge. The atmosphere is beautiful. Many paintings available for purchase and the booths are designed to resemble jelly bean houses. If you want a great meal, low cost and excellent service take a trip to Crooked Phil's.
I would rate it 6 stars if I could. Incredible, kind and heartwarming staff, delicious fresh food and affordable prices, all in a great location. Truly a wonderful experience and a great place to be. Excellent service; yummy food; reasonably priced; small-town breakfast and lunch cafe. Lovely atmosphere of family-like service. They were super accommodating for me as I can't have gluten and the gluten free breakfast sandwich they made for me was soooo yum! Still thinking about it 2 days later! keep it up, Crooked Phil! Will definitely be back whenever we come through Carbonear! *Busy little spot with not many tables, so I recommend making a reservation if you're tight for time*
Wow! Where do I Start!? The staff is absolutely amazing, so nice and friendly. I had the turkey club and it was outstanding, best sandwich I've had in a long while. I pulled into this lot to go to subway but when I seen this place I knew it was special. Also had the coffee and that was so smooth very good. Salad was very nice and fresh. Lastly the cookie I had with my lunch was the perfect top off to the meal.
Incredible everything. Don't skip it! That is if you can manage to get a table. Very popular spot and for good reason!Food: 5/5
We really enjoyed the breakfast today and the last whole atmosphere in this place was refreshing. Well done one and all.
There was nobody "crooked" at Crooked Phil's Cafe when I visited yesterday! Out for a motorcycle ride with a buddy. It was time to get something to eat and our stomachs led us to Crooked Phil's. What a treasure!!! Incredible home cooked plates, served by a wonderful, super pleasant lady. If she could kill you with kindness, she would. So rare, and welcome in this day and age, where the service industry has lost the plot completely...but I digress. Absolutely wonderful service combined with brilliant fabulous plates of food. If you haven't been there you should go! Crooked Phil, you and your team are doing an awesome job. Keep it up! Did I mention they do ALL DAY BREAKFAST!!! I had the grilled cheese / bacon
As always, a lovely breakfast and a very pleasant server. However, the restaurant was a little cool and chilly air came in every time the door opened, which made for an uncomfortable stay.
The staff was so friendly!! And the hash browns were delicious! Not many dairy free options however. But would go back for coffee, hashbrowns and the atmosphere.
What a hidden Gem!!! A little diner hidden away amongst some other business, one being a popular fish and chips franchise. However, the place is busy! You may have to wait for a table to open, at most 10 minutes, but well worth the wait. Numerous all day breakfast of various types and the portions are huge! But I had the Club sandwich on toasted homemade bread with a bowl of homemade soup and a partridge berry scone that came with it - huge meal, I left full and absolutely satisfied! 10/10 for sure!!!
