Always a nice experience at the office, contrary to the rhetoric I always hear about the fearful dentist. I find the hygienist to always be efficient and pleasant in work and banter, and my needs are always met by the dentists who are clearly experts in their trade, both in medicine and in understanding patient needs. The office is pleasant with a nice spacious waiting room which doesn't evoke that sterile feeling, and I've never waited more than a few minutes- a testament to their efficiency; and I like the half-open plan which provides enough privacy but also some liveliness and community, complimented with what I understand to be high quality equipment. I never dread going.

I have been to Dr. Wallin and his staff on several different occasions. Overall, a very professional practice that provided elite dental services. I have referred a few of my friends and family there. Thank you very much for the great dental care and I look forward to visiting you in the future.

It was during August 2015 when I went to my dentist for a cleaning and checkup. I was told that my bridge would need to be replaced. I was referred to Dental Specialists in Roseville, MN. I was told that I would receive a FREE estimate but later received a bill for $135. I had another estimate from another dentist, was told the estimate would be FREE but again received a bill. By now I was frightened with the extremely high cost for this work. I normally do NOT take the yearly phone books but this time I did...I saw a number for "Dental Information Services" and called...This gentleman was so nice, comforting, concerned, easy to talk to and just great to talk to. Later I learned this was Dr. Lloyd Wallin, DDS at Crestridge Dental in Burnsville. I said, "I know Burnsville is a bit far from St. Paul but I just may have to come see you." He said, "Sure you are welcome, I will take a peek and give you a FREE estimate and you are under NO obligation at all." I went for this estimate during September and was treated so wonderful by Dr. Wallin and the entire staff. I received a written estimate shortly afterwards and the price was quite considerably lower than the other two and I received NO bill. I went again today for a consult because Dr. Wallin wanted to make sure all looked the same as September and luckily it does. I also received a FREE teeth cleaning and one of his GREAT musical CD's. I never had this much fun going to the dentist. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wallin and Crestridge Dental to anyone who needs a dentist that is HONEST and does only what is necessary. This will be my new dental office from now on. Yes Burnsville is a bit far from St. Paul but for the wonderful treatment, it is well worth it to me... Thank you so much Dr. Wallin and Crestridge Dental Staff. :)

Be Aware of Dr. Wallin’s Billing Practice!!! I saw Dr. Wallin between 12/2009 and 1/2013, as he was the nearest dentist in our insurance provider network. When I received my first Explanation of Benefit (EOB) from insurance I was surprised to see many charges not covered by insurance, including “Local Anesthesia”. After contacting my insurance I found out that they did cover anesthesia and other associated components as part of procedures (fillings/crown/etc.) and most dentists do include these as part of the procedure. But it doesn’t cover them when billed in addition to the procedure. When Dr. Wallin told me that I would be responsible for whatever amount the insurance didn’t cover, I pointed out that I would be better off seeing other dentists for less charges. Dr. Wallin then ORALLY stated that he wouldn’t make me pay what other dentists don’t charge. He did keep that promise through 2011. I left Dr. Wallin’s care in Jan. 2013 due to a few care-related concerns in addition to his billing practice. When I contacted his office for my last bill after the insurance payments, I was told that I was responsible for all the separate charges because he “could find nothing in” WRITTEN records for the payment arrangement with me. In my last bill, among many separate charges, was one billed under a denture procedure code (I have never had dentures), and another for “Local Anesthesia” associated with a procedure that couldn't even be billed. I'm certain the anesthesia was erroneously administered during that appointment (my last visit). Be aware of Dr. Wallin’s billing practice, or you could end up paying a lot more than you would to other dentists. Below is what he wrote to me on the subject – “I have always, and I continue to always itemize and submit separately, each and every procedure I do”. “If I do compromise or make adjustments on treatment charges for patients, it is always written into the patient record”.
