The Cranbrook Public Library opened its doors to the public on July 24, 1925. The small collection of donated books were housed over the Post Office where rent was only $5 a month. The Library was only open 9 hours a week, but boasted a membership of 95 persons. Today, the library is open every day and has 10 805 members and counting! The library has a collection of over 70 000 books, magazines, newspapers, and movies that people can check out - a lot more than what we had in 1925! The Cranbrook Public Library also has public computers that a card member can use for free for one hour every day.
