This place is amazing its bigger & better then i thought . Its got a food stand . Every Sunday is live jazz music by TOPAZ JAZZ. Its a informative place and the buildings are old and if you like red dead redemption the video game or western cowboy stuff then this is the place for you . Its close to rathtrevor beach and the hotels in that area . Its got parking around .
Loved loved loved this place. So much history. Authentic buildings and authentic collections. There is a blurb next to the everything. The host was extra nice and he walked us through and explained several things and told us the background stories for several buildings/pieces. Call ahead for off-season visits! But definitely visit if you get the opportunity!!
Even though it was all locked up... still fun to look at buildings and walk around the yard. Really brings back memories. Awesome time just walking around and looking at stuff.
Beautiful place for the whole family! Old school house, post office, fire station and church. Parksville and French Creek history next to the visitor center. All info in one place!
I love this little museum be sure to see the model trains it is a real treat to see how one family actually came here in the 1800s and had brought tools for everyone to use and to set up the basis of a beautiful town. I love this museum's hands on approach most of the items are replicas and the real deal all one needs to do is sit back and relive history. Apparently medical aid was a major issue in the day and they got their first dr in 1930s. .History was hard back in the day. However still echos how hard it is to get medical attention. The place has a wonderful school room which echos the tests and tears of a hundred kids and was a lovely place. Nothing will compare to the actual lantern history and you can see the times glow in the old barn beside the school very cool to been there and that was my favorite thing to do.there was hang out by the lanterns.
More to see there than you might expect. A trip down memory lane.
Nice museum. Always good to stay in touch with the past.
It's perfect for anyone you can have a guide or go by yourself for free if you go by yourself was really fun and totally recommended
Fun, educational and great place for kids to visit.
Lots to see, very interactive. My five year old enjoyed it and keeps asking to go back. Definitely plan to stop in again. Also every building is open and well planned for ventilation and safety.
