Cortland Dental

This place deserves -3 stars. This was the WORST dentist I have ever been to. I just spit out 2 mouthfuls of blood. Mind you I was only here for a cleaning. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and have never had a cavity or issue with my mouth. My insurance changed and I had to leave my old dentist (the one in Tully). I literally left crying. I don’t know how this place is still open. DO NOT GO HERE

Reason this is two stars instead of one is that the staff is very friendly and they were on time. Overall: Efficiency overly emphasized, works too quickly. I came for a cleaning, which was done by the dentist very quickly (maybe five minutes total if that, might have been 3 minutes) and a little bit on the rough side. They did not even floss my teeth and didn't let me spit out after scraping. When he used The brush/paste he only did The front and inside of my teeth but not the tops of molars. The doctor told me I had no cavities after he had only been in my mouth for about 30 seconds, so I doubt that is accurate as my last dentist had a few teeth on watch or listed as small cavities. Maybe he was busy today, I don't know. But I clean my teeth this well on my own no reason to come to an office for this. Still feel like I need an actual hygentist cleaning. I would not trust coming here for serious dental work.

My family has been coming here for a long time and we always have received excellent services. Everyone is very kind and helpful.

Dr. Singh seems a very nice, caring man. The staff is nice too, and appointments easy to get. He does quick, painless work, but quick may be the problem. He did an extraction, leaving me with what an oral surgeon would later describe as "nerve damage". I accept the fact that sometimes bad things happen. But then the doctor replaced a filling in another tooth and that created big problems for me - it's impossible to floss, a trap for food, and it aches on and off. The tooth is apparently SUCH a mess that two other dentists, and a prostodontist were afraid to touch it. Everyone is telling me, "wait and see". For what, an abscess? I guess I don't understand dentistry.

Staff is nice, but the Dr. gave my daughter novacain, and doesn't let it work just ripped right out, same with my husband.
