Great experience at Cortina. I had the summer sangria. It was white but I would have preferred a red sangria but I didn’t ask before ordering. I also ordered an old fashioned. My dish was a little heavy on the salt. I tried others and they were not the same. Not sure what went wrong. I would come back. Service was great and so was the ambiance.
Walked in with friends without a reservation on a Tuesday night and were seated pretty quickly. To our surprise lucky us it was restaurant week and Cortina was participating. I had the steak tartare, sourdough which was a little extra the pasta dish nice and spicy and we shared dessert. Our friend picked a wine that was out of this world. All of that was only $60/person which for downtown Seattle isn't bad in my opinion. All in all it was a great experience for us. Thank you!
Visited this restaurant for a team lunch. I ordered potato gnocchi. It was truly delicious. The gnocchi was very fresh and soft. The squash sauce went very well with the gnocchi. The service was very good as well. A colleague wanted pasta with no eggs and they were happy to switch it out with vegan pasta. Overall, it was a great experience and would highly recommend this place.
Great Italian place in downtown Seattle. Price is reasonable to the location. They get really busy, reservation is a must. They have wide variety of wine selection too. Good options are great.
This is a chic location with stylish vibe. Mainly gatherings of professionals. Starters are small plates with eclectic styles. Minimalist! Main course especially pasta has little meats-May be by design!
Not that it was bad just not that it was good. For the cost I would expect an excellent experience. Plenty of better pasta restaurants in Seattle to try first. Atmosphere was pretty basic also. Every time we wanted something party of 2 we had to flag our waitress down to ask. She was friendly though so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Food wise though, par. Most likely won’t be returning.
Beautiful new cafe in the lobby of Two Union Square just outside the elevator from the parking garage. This new cafe by Ethan Stowell is an extension of the Cortina restaurant downstairs facing Union St. The food is made fresh daily in the Cortina kitchen. Coffee is by Vita. Cafe design by Heliotrope Architects and constructed by Dovetail General Contractors.
Soooo good. Literally everything. I paid for parking for Cheesecake Factory and they had a 2 hour wait so I looked for places to walking distance and found this place which not only looks really nice but the food sounded amazing. It was all great and fairly quick.
3 stars because of the service we experienced. I would rate higher due to the food but it seems like they are still working out things as they opened not that long ago when this review is written. The positives: Their cocktails were very good. A good amount of alcohol and flavorful. The food. The pasta was cooked perfectly and seasoned exceptionally. The beef tartar was clearly made with good beef. The negatives: Service. It took a good 10 minutes to get our first drinks from the time we ordered them. The table next to us had their dessert delivered to their table while they were still eating their mains. Our dessert got sent to the wrong table. This place has potential but they need to work out some things before I could give it a higher rating. I do plan on going back in a few months to see how things have changed since the food was exceptional.
Food and service were very good. However... I was flabbergasted by the note on the bill yes, it's in the fine print on the menu as well, but I didn't notice until the bill came. We would've stayed anyway, but my observation still applies. Note the 4% surcharge. This is ludicrous and plainly dishonest. Non labor costs have risen? Gee, what a surprise. They've always risen over time which is why restaurant menu prices are higher today than, say, 3 years ago, or 5, or 20. What the hell can ESR be thinking? When your costs—rent, electricity, raw materials, and yes, of course, labor—go up, you raise your prices so you can continue operating profitably. This note literally means, "All the prices shown on the menu are a lie; they are shown at 96% of what they really are so we look more competitive with other restaurants." I'm glad I used up my remaining ESR gift card balance. There are too many honest restauranteurs still around to patronize businesses like this.
